(ag) wrote: It's very 80s cheesey which brings the film down a lot when watching it nowadays, but Dustin Hoffman is phenomenal in it. The plot is completely implausible, but who cares when the cast is this fun.
(kr) wrote: the twist at the end of "portrait in black" is a little stupid, and unbelievable, though leading up to that moment and what comes after the twist is really good. if that bit were only changed to something i woudn't have such a hard time swallowing, this could have been a brilliant piece of cinema.
(de) wrote: I rarely like older films like these but after watching 20 mins or so I found myself wanting to know how it would play out. The editing was all over but common for the time and Farley Granger was good.

Is the captain bad? The air marshal? Schwentke makes these subtle moments where the characters grin or stare ambiguously at others. It's very well-done, despite the far-fetchedness of the story.
(us) wrote: What I got to say about "Paranormal Activity" is one of the most scariest found footage horror movie I have ever seen. "It's hand down terrifying, spine-tingling chills and jaw dropping!" The performances by the two leads are felt so real and authentic. The directing and screenplay by Oren Peli is perfection. The cinematography in this was pretty good. The chronography is good. The score is spooky good. Finally, the effects are really great. "I'm raving that "Paranormal Activity" is a relentless suspenseful, independent tale of supernatural horror that will have you on the edge of your seat plus gasping for air! - A definitely must see film!"
