(nl) wrote: The second of the Flint duology, this one isn't as sharp as the first one was, though Coburn and Cobb are still fun to watch. The plotline is even more outlandish that the first, but this time the hijinks don't feel quite as fresh; indeed, the pacing is a particular problem, something that should never be the case in a comedy. It's a decent diversion overall, but OUR MAN FLINT is superior.
(us) wrote: It spins a good yarn, and sports an all-around impressive cast. The even seems to have a Hitchcockian dose to it, though the pickpocket could not really be considered an ombudsman. Still, it is never boring, and best of all, stars Thelma Ritter, who is always a joy to watch on the screen. And as far as a film noir goes, its right up there with some of the best.
