Isadore H (ru) wrote: Great visual effects and incredible work from every cast member make A Monster Calls a future all time classic family movie...hopefully. The film unfortunately bombed in theaters across the country and was unrecognized for its incredible story and the overall moving effect the film has while still being family friendly and enjoyable for kids who can grasp the some of themes, wonder at the amazing visuals and enjoy Liam Neeson in a fantastic performance as the monster. Adults will be able to relate to the deep message the film is trying to get across, and the end result will likely amaze everyone who witnesses this. I beg anyone who reads this to not miss seeing this film at least once

Jason M (ca) wrote: This is one of the most grossly overrated films of all time. It's simple plot, simple screenplay and light dialogue must have taken the groupthink of Hollywood critics by surprise to have showered such praise on an amateurish film. I am certain that the producers were as surprised as I was that the $4M budget movie went on to make $120M at the box office, and win Oscars for Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Screenplay. She was nominated for Best Director in this, her 2nd only feature, at the time when Martin Scorcese had never won an Oscar as a director in his career - absolutely shameful. Do you think her father Francis had anything to do with it? Bill Murray takes a serious turn in much non-acting and little dialogue here. I remember feeling angrily frustrated with the ending when I saw this at the theatre. However, the feeling dissipated as quickly as it came after I realized the film was not worth such emotional investment.

Sean C (jp) wrote: THE CGI is unwatchable and unacceptable given the time it was made and the fact that it was a sequel to a brilliant first effort. Just all in all a sloppy film.

Tani N (fr) wrote: Saw the movie before reading Sweet Thursday and liked it. (The love dwindled a bit after the reading.) Still, gotta love the dance scene.

Patrick M (mx) wrote: It's a surprisingly well-made debut by Bogdanovich and it has some good build-up, but I didn't care much for the climax. I feel like this film could have gone much further. Still a decent send-off for horror legend Boris Karloff, however.

Lucia S (mx) wrote: A nice semi dramatic but mostly screwball flick starring the stupendous John Barrymore and beautiful Carole Lombard. In truth, the first portion of the film is hillarious and clever, the second half seemed trite and too comical. The ending, although fitting, seemed like a cheap resolution. In the end only Jaffe and Lily can stand each other and their self-centered, eccentric personalities.

Federico F (ru) wrote: funny story of halloween children inspired by typical scenes from fear and dark humor, used in many films; the characteristic difference that it is used with CGI

Alex S (ru) wrote: Surprisingly good action packed thriller starring Mark Wahlberg.I don't understand the hate, it was better than most of the crap from the time.

Maksim B (jp) wrote: Challenging, painfully realistic and incredibly well executed, Kajaki (released as Kilo Two Bravo in the US) is a true military story that is both a tribute to heroism and a sharp anti-war drama. A simple movie that has no actual battle scene, the story is much more powerful and gut-wrenching than most of the war dramas of nowadays.A British platoon securing a road near the Afghani Kajaki dam finds itself in the middle of an active minefield. With no enemy, but only time and the Soviet-times mines against them, the Kilo Two Bravo platoon has to find a way to the timely rescue the injured platoon members. There are no higher military agendas or pathetic ideals depicted in Paul Katis' movie. Only a group of man showing the highest level of heroism, courage and brotherhood. The movie is certainly not a mainstream delivery. It is unpleasant at moments as the graphic scenes of blood, injuries and the horror of war might be too much for some viewers. For the rest, this war drama will be most intriguing, character-driven and touching story which completely captivate you and keep you holding your breath throughout all the events in the minefield.
