His style is unique, and he managed to bring such a creepy tone and atmosphere to his films that have made him standout among others in the genre. However in the last decade, he started to lose his touch, and that could be said about his latest directorial effort, Dracula 3D, which has the look of a low-budget, straight to DVD feature. That's not saying much. This is a painful movie to watch, and it is also a waste of a pretty good cast. Thomas Kretschmann is usually a pretty actor, and he's made some great films, however in the role of Dracula, he tries to elevate the lacking material to no avail. Rutger Hauer who I find to be fairly hit and miss depending on the part just doesn't cut it. Now the thing has bugged many viewers about this film is the laughable CGI. The effects are cheaply done and it's clear that there was no effort put into making that looks good. This effort is just lazy, and I think it's a great shame because Dario Argento was once a great director. I can't believe the man who directed Suspiria, Phenomena, Opera and Deep Red is the same guy that directed this crap. Dracula could have been a very good movie, if the script would have been polished, the budget was bigger, to at least make the effects look good, instead of making them look cheap. If you're a diehard Dario Argento fan like I am, you'll be very disappointed with what's displayed on-screen. I think that this is one of the biggest disappointments that Dario Argento has directed, and the only thing that this movie proves is that this once great director has lost his touch, and with each film that he directs nowadays, the quality suffers and he makes movies that don't even come close to what he used to make in heyday.

I didn't see in until 2015 and I enjoyed it. The animation is very nice to look at and the plot is briskly paced, albeit incoherent. The film suffers from some issues, mainly dealing with the character development. Milo is your typical geeky but well-meaning hero. He's not one of the most memorable Disney protagonists. The villain is just your typical greedy bastard who wants to destroy Atlantis for money and nothing else. Kida is kind of bland, but she's okay. I thought the Atlantean culture was pretty cool, as well as the people. What I really enjoyed in the movie were the side characters. They are such a delightful crew of oddballs. They're really funny and unique, and the climax is fun. The plot is still incoherent and the main characters aren't very interesting. I was kind of annoyed that the film is an hour and a half long because I wanted to see more of Atlantis itself. The film is also pretty corny and stupid at times. But I think I like it better than most people. It's not really good but not really bad either. I actually think it's decent. Atlantis - The Lost Empire isn't one of the best Disney films, but it's a fun adventure. It's worth a viewing or two

(jp) wrote: Okay this was always one of my favorite horror films as a kid. For some reason I always thought Pinker was a black dude growing up, here to find out it's Skinner from The X-Files!!!The whole cast is solid, and once Pinker starts body jumping a lot of random characters get to ham it up mocking the guy. Seeing little Parker swear and do that limp is a blast!Cami Cooper may be the hottest female horror lead that never did another big movie I have ever seen. The plot is fun and when they start TV surfing at the end, well...you gotta just go with it and you'll have some fun.
(it) wrote: The story is about how relentless abuses and ignorance is fertile terrain for more abuse and ignorance while creating a drive for a mafia style mob enterprise. This is how the mafia started probably in sicily. Well, it is not brilliance for sure. Stupid mafia and stupid police go so well together. Well made film with stunted characters and/or probably psychopathic. A bit hypnotic.
