Tor M (es) wrote: Uzak is a slow and pretty long film with a limited plot. It's also super realistic so it's easy to mark it "boring". The first half of it is excactly this, but the rest is much more interesting and even tense in a way, even if there are few things happening. Uzak is superslow and it' feels more like a picture, not a film. It's images and not scenes that you will remember after watching this very well shot film. It have a fantastic way of camera stearing and there are several supershots here. It's surely a Tarkovsky tribute - we even get to see the actors watch "Stalker" in a scene. The actors are unprofessional and it works out well. It feels natural. You can probably see a little piece of yourself in it - i surely did. The themes here are chances not beeing taken and physical distance wrapped in quiet, dark and sometimes painful surroundings. It won't entertain you, but it will stick with you. It will also grow on you - maybe for several days, maybe for weeks.

Marvin HC M (es) wrote: This was a cute movie, by no means painful cute. My wife forced me to watch it, I've seen far, far worse. Minnie Driver, Mary Steenburgen and Frank Collison's offered fun/quirky performance. These offerings made up for the less than interesting performances by Firth and Heather Graham.
