Frenetic and colourful, the wildly directed work proved terribly confusing in parts, but due largely to the strength of cast and their chemistry, ultimately proves to be a delight to watch. One thing for sure, yummy pastry and delicious men makes for one tasty viewing. Recommended.

Magnolia, I believe will go down as PTA's finest work. From the soundtrack to the editing to the cinematography/direction to the writing to the performances (including a career defining performance from Tom Cruise), everything about this movie clicks. This is one of those 3-hour films that goes by really fast. There is no plausible way to express how much emotion and atmosphere this film gives off so you have to see it for yourself. You know those lists of "X Number of Films You HAVE to See Before Die"? Yeah, Magnolia is probably in the top 20, if not top 15. A masterpiece.Studio: New Line Cinema/Warner Bros.

(kr) wrote: Swing Kids is a decent film. It is about the story of a close-knit group of young kids in Nazi Germany who listen to banned swing music from the US. Robert Sean Leonard and Christian Bale give good performances. The script is good but a little slow in places. Thomas Carter did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the music and drama.

It is one of the most original films I have ever seen, though Cassavetes work was mostly improvised and so always had a spontaneous and creative feel. Love Streams is so good because it is the work of a highly creative mind at the height of his talents. It is haunting in its depiction of an unusual brother and sister and their love for each other and for family (in the case of the sister played by the great Gena Rowlands in a beautiful, though at times scary, performance.) More than anything it is a study of the meaning of love itself. The look of the film and the editing alone make this one worth watching.

(au) wrote: Most of the film centers on a ridiculous alleyway SWAT assault, hundreds of police rifles centered on Billy Dee Williams?? gut shot rebel. I can??t think of another movie with a higher body count (maybe Schwarzenegger??s Commando); there must be at least 40-50 people randomly killed over the course of the movie. The other part of the film is dealt out in flashback, various folks having to suffer through Billy Dee??s hate filled blather and I found myself having a real hard time feeling sorry for such an arrogant, idealess, one dimensional fool. I love young Billy Dee Williams and I wish films like The Take, Hit!, or Number One With A Bullet were available on DVD and I didn??t have to suffer through this mess to get my fix. Not VF.

I dont care for the 1st movie alot but at times i do enjoy watching it, but this film is my favorite in the trilogy. With a few returning cast members and new faces coming. Say what you wanna say about this movie I think its great despite people saying its trash. Thats their opinion and this is mine. I own it because i love it and thats all that matters. I am curious of a remake they might do in 2017 or 2018. We'll see if thats good or not.

Now, he will stop at nothing to get the ring that was stolen from him. To help him is the hilarious John Leguizamo and joining them is Bernie Mac as Kevin's uncle. William Fichtner is also unforgettable as the police detective who suspects De Vito of committing insurance fraud.
