Adam M (au) wrote: Is there a calibre of film below that of a B-movie? One where almost nobody can act and it really makes you wonder how anyone got Carl Reiner to make a cameo in this thing? Sum bells is aptly titled, likely after the authors and director.

Lo B (de) wrote: There is greater depth and despair lying subtly behind the apparent simplicity of this film. Now, I can't think anyone else than Coppola and Kathleen Turner could have been as efficient in making such a delicate, balanced and nostalgic piece about a woman whose life has been almost frozen in time. The french film "Camille Redouble" is a proof of that.... gentle it sure is, but it has none of the bittersweet nostalgia and grandeur of the original.
Ted W (ca) wrote: Dumb ok just another Friday the 13th that doesn't show Jason's iconic hockey mask. I'm still waiting, please say that they will finally show Jason's hockey mask after 3 flipping movies. This movie is pretty much the first movie but with Jason Voorhees murdering college kids that are counselors and with a new cast because duh, everybody in the first Friday the 13th movie died except the one girl but soon dies after the first 4 minutes of the movie. This movie isn't special in any way but I do like that Jason is killing people instead of his mother. And I also like that he's getting revenge not only for himself because of what happened with the counselors long ago when he was a child but also for his mom. I don't get how his mom's head is all moldy and rotten, wouldn't it already decomposed by now, it's been five years since the one girl chopped her head off but hey logic never works out in horror movies.

It's about an excaped crazy druggie (The Body by jake guy) finding his way to a large family looking to have a thanksgiving dinner. He proceeds to hack them up one by one. Nothing really original here. Jake himself does a really good job of coming off as crazy so I can't rag on him. The film just isn't worth viewing more than once.
Andrew F (ag) wrote: The first truly bad film I've ever seen from John Huston. The whole thing is executed without even a hint that this is the man who two previous films were "Man Who Would Be King" and "Wise Blood." Working from a script/story by Ronald Shusett and Gary Sherman (of "Alien"/"Dead & Buried" fame), let's just say I'm much more disappointed with the results here than if it'd merely been a lackluster John Huston film. Full disclosure - the only way to watch this other than VHS is by downloading a copy recorded off television that constantly has tracking marks on it from whatever garbage VCR recorded it. Somehow, this still hasn't been released on DVD. Go figure.

Timothy J (us) wrote: Acting was incredible, the ending not so much.. I mean I understand the whole purpose is that the story wasn't suppose to mean anything and it was a play on the cat and mouse style movie.. I just figured there would be more meat.
Steve G (ru) wrote: "Point Break" captures the thrill and intensity of a 1990's classic. The plot to "Point Break" is a young "Johnny Utah" portrayed by "Keanu Reeves" joins the "F.B.I." and takes on the new case of a group of 4 bank robbers named the "Ex-Presidents. "Utah's" co-worker "Angelo Pappas" portrayed by "Gary Busey" has a theory that the "Ex- Presidents" are surfers. Once knowing this "Utah" goes undercover to find out who the "Ex- Presidents" really are. The movie opens with "Utah" practicing his shooting while mixed with scenes of people surfing. This is a great opening to the film as it shows what the movie is about. Throughout the movie it shows "Utah" and "Pappas" busting big criminals. The action sequences are extremely entertaining to watch, they make it look like "Utah"" is truly about to get hurt. The film's climax is actually disappointing as it is unentertaining due to the unsatisfactory justice of the antagonist. "Keanu Reeves" isn't one of "Hollywood's" best actors; in fact he receives a lot of hate for this. It doesn't feel like "Keanu Reeves" is truly giving one hundred percent to his role as "Utah". "Reeves" gives the audience a calm performance instead of a strong and angry performance, as he should. In past "Mark Isham" has created thrilling and exciting music for his films and "Point Break" is no exception. The late "Donald Peterman" filmed "Point Break" exceptionally using no close ups or shaking the camera. If you are a person who enjoys 1990's Action movies then I recommend you watch "Point Break" as it has a great plot, thrilling scenes mixed with amazing music. Although the movie is not perfect it has some issues, these being an unentertaining climax, a weak performance from "Keanu Reeves" and a weak death. I give 1991's "Point Break" a 7.5/10.
