(mx) wrote: This movie was horrible to watch. It is even more if you know anything about aviation with all the inaccuracies. Just to name a few pushing the control column forward makes a aircraft move down not turn, also showing the aircraft turning left off course but showing the actual aircraft rolling to the right is also completely wrong. How one of the designers Samantha doesn't know how to fly or read the elevation yet knows the aircraft is heading into turbulence makes real sense. Would anyone believe a 747 weighs 8,000 lbs? I could go on and on but in the end this film is not worth watching unless you want to laugh at the inaccuracies and madness.

It wasn't jam-packed with violence, shooting, fighting and car chases, yet it was never boring for a moment. The acting felt pretty compelling and the subtitling was perfect (as far as I can tell). The plot seemed to slightly lose its way toward the end as if they might be making it up as they went along, but the twist at the very end was really rather clever. 7.75/10

The film ultimately is an okay dark-comedy, possessing only a few genuine laugh out loud moments, the style and characters quirky but not strong enough as a collective. Sam Rockwells central performance is good but subdued considering the nature of the character as an idea on paper and having seen this following his majestic turn in Seven Psychopaths.
(au) wrote: I REALLY wanted to like this, however, it is the slowest-moving film I have ever seen, and there is almost zero dialogue. I found it impossible to understand the story-line, such as it was. Naturally, the critics here all would love this, but I doubt many viewers will have this much patience. Looking forward to another film from Mongolia....

(ca) wrote: A disturbing look into the mind of it's schizophrenic main character, Kerrigan builds an impressive audio/visual design to put you into the character's mind.

(ag) wrote: It's dramatic without being cheesy, anti-war without being pamphletary, trippy without being junkie. Terrifying and touchy movie.
(us) wrote: A brilliantly over-the-top fairytale musical. The overall design of the film is bonkers genius in a Willy Wonka kind of way and the story, by the author of Cinderella, is very amusing. The prince's pantaloons are just that bit TOO tight for my liking however.
(au) wrote: A rather entertaining, dream-like and very original Italo-Russian co-production about a bunch of Arctic explorers that find themselves trapped in the snowy desert under a red tent.
