Dorian G (nl) wrote: One of my top 10 movies of all time. So many quotable jokes, great visual gags, and I forgot how funny the songs and dances are. I feel like an idiot laughing so much, when Sam really doesn't think it's funny. I remember the first time I watched this movie, my brother and I and some of his friends rented a few movies on VHS for a weekend movie night, and this was one, along with Monty Python's the Holy Grail. I laughed so hard at both those movies, what a weekend.I'm glad this film has become such the classic that it is, as there aren't many western-comedies (at least not good ones), and it's impressive how well this holds up 40 years later.Watched on DVD at home, with a very hungover Sam (it was her birthday party last night!), January 21, 2017.

Jarrett M (ca) wrote: Warlock is a mildly interesting movie that feels a bit like a 'Highlander' knockoff with a spicing of 'The Terminator'. Mostly average in every department, the only real standout in the film for me was Julian Sands' performance as the title character. While the film as a whole is not bad, I wouldn't suggest going out of your way to see it.
Dave W (es) wrote: I didn't understand this movie at first when I saw a bullet to the chest. Then somebody came by and put a bullet to the head. Then I fell asleep and I woke up and Stallone was naked fighting another naked dude in some dark vague background. They were grunting in a hyper masculine, completely non-sexual way. Not sure I'll give this one another chance.

Grant S (us) wrote: (1971, not 2012, by the way).A good Australian drama that had the potential to be great. The background and setup were excellent. As you go further into the story you feel more and more trapped, as the lead character is. The writer and director take you on a downward spiral of alcoholism and hellscape-entrapment. It is suffocating, the lead character's predicament, and plays out almost like a horror movie. You can check out but you can never leave...The movie also shows the pointlessness and futurelessness of rural redneck life. However, from a point is almost starts to glamorise this lifestyle. There are several consecutive scenes that are quite irritating to watch: the drunken parties, the random kangaroo killings, the general drunken boganism. While this shows what awaits the lead character, it is very annoying.A tighter script around the 2/3rds mark and a grittier follow-through on the setup and this would have been a brilliant movie.
