A Time for Drunken Horses

Matters are made worse when 12 year old Ayoub, the new head of the family, is told that his handicapped brother, Madi, needs an immediate operation in order to remain alive. The Critic (mx) wrote: The plot might be very simplistic, harking back to the days where comedy was just about physical gags, but 'Nuns on the Run' is very much a laugh-out-loud ride with a peppery soundtrack that adds excitement to the chase sequences. Likeable Eric Idle and scene-stealing Robbie Coltrane share terrific chemistry here, with the cute Camille Coduri as the accidental third member of their team. There's also fine support from Janet Suzman, Lila Kaye and Doris Hare as nuns in the convent. Lots of fun from beginning to end.

bill k (nl) wrote: I think had I seen this in 1983 I might have enjoyed it more. At this point, despite good acting by Michael Caine, it seems dated. The musical score is one of the worst I have ever heard. Did we like this fake-synthesized drivel back in '83? Maybe the novelty captivated us.
