However, as a giant Seth McFarlane fan and him not being part of this documentary makes me sad and is one of the reasons why I only give this doc three stars.

Michelle R (it) wrote: Whether you agree with the war or not, this is a moving and honest documentary that shows what the platoon based in the Korengal Valley had to endure. Tim Heatherington as a photojournalist is of the calibre of Eros Hoagland and many others who sacrifice their lives to bring the truth in still images or video to the world. His narrative is in what he captures and for that he paid the price in Libya when he was killed. I do not know anything about military strategy. But in my mind when you get your enemy into a valley is when you have an upper hand - the 'enemy' in this case is the US army in the eyes of the Taliban. Sacrifice and serving one's country is nothing new in history. But to have Junger and Hetherington be so blatant about putting a humanistic face to it makes me, a person far away when it happened, with strong opinions against it, retract my opinion if only to show complete respect for what these young men did. Because in effect they were ill-prepared with the terrain. This was not modern warfare as the media shows us. This was real warfare and real combat in a terrain that is difficult, unfamiliar and most of all scary. And so many of them so young. One can only be thankful that Hetherington and Junger gave the world this documentary. With politicians is where opinions lie; with the men and women who choose to serve their nation, it is where respect regardless of opinion must be given.

Aaron V (au) wrote: a documentary about the rise and fall of an astonishingly successful company that thought too highly of itself to notice its fatal flaws. It serves as a classic case of groupthink and a parable of the human ego. Interviews, news reports, recordings and narration are seamlessly weaved together for an experience of watching a huge train crash where what is happening is awful but you can't look away. Because it hits the bullseye of the human tendency to deceive and get lost in deceit. Politically it leans to the left, going out of its way to tie the Bush administration to a terribly dishonest company. Also, it sides with California Governor Gray Davis, reducing his entire recall to the power outage problems that Enron was causing to inflate prices. Never mind his own flaws; it's juicier to show big companies manipulating the system. But if you like documentaries and don't mind brief political commentary, it is worth the watch. (Not family friendly; Rated R)
Greg T (us) wrote: I almost feel guilty slating a film that was obviously created by horror fans who, despite a clear lack of money and talent, pushed on through sheer enthusiam. But this is so incomprehensibly, unforgivably bad that there's really no choice. Atrocious acting, appalling (and inexplicable) camera work and way, way too much screaming may well have you turning off before the halfway point. If you do, congratulations - you just saved yourself 45 minutes of pointless agony.

Rachel M (us) wrote: it is nice, charming, n surprisingly thoughtful. i didn't know american people also consider age, religion, n ethnicity for a marriage. good to know. :) i've been americanizing so age n ethnicity don't matter to me anymore if there's love, true love. but there's no compromising with faith; my guy has to be a Christian. lol age difference...(in the movie 14 yrs diff, wow) as long as a woman doesn't look too older than her man, then i think it's ok. but if you're in love tooooo young guy, who cares? according to the movie, you deserve it. haha.
