Deborah J (ca) wrote: Very poignant story, great scenery. Love Aidan Quinn's acting. One of my favourites.

Jonathan H (it) wrote: Paul Schrader's homage to Bresson's Pickpocket proves three things:1) Being a good screenwriter doesn't automatically make you a good director.2) Hector Elizondo was bald even when he was young.3) Richard Gere cannot carry a film to save his life.

Chris S (br) wrote: May someone explain the point of this film? Why did the sexually liberated woman have to be a psychotic and pedophilic murderer? And why did the other woman have to be a victim who is exploited all of her life until the end? A lot of scenes like where they play with food and where men defecate in a plate in front of others are just going to shock and disgust the heck out of you; there's no point to it.

Carissa P (nl) wrote: Excellent story showing the best of humanity and the worst of humanity and the struggle facing one ex ballplayer who lost his job and is struggling with alcoholism . Then he meets a young man, who lost his mother, who faces discrimination in his job due to having down syndrome, but hes still overflowing with optimism . They teach other what it means to navigate life on your own terms . I have read other reviews here which have criticized this movie as heavy handed religious. Not true . The young man happens to go to church and carry a bible , in his life experience , is that unusual ? Denzel Washington did an entire movie " The Book of Eli" carrying a bible !Did anyone call that heavy handed ? I felt this movie Where Hope Grows was great !Was great ! Give it a try !
