(br) wrote: This premiered at a movie theater I worked at in Philadelphia and I had the very stressful job of putting the film together, and then running the projector while it was being screened to a packed theater with Mario and Melvin Van Peebles in attendance. Working as a projectionist can be pretty routine once you get the hang of it, but I don't think I've ever been so stressed as when I had to do this. I was so worried about everything working properly that I wasn't able to watch the film. Almost 10 years later, I finally got a chance to watch it and I thought it was a really enjoyable movie. Couldn't think of a better person to create a tribute film about Melvin Van Peebles than his son, Mario. It's a really interesting look at a landmark independent film.

(ru) wrote: Okay, it's no passenger 57 and I don't know why Ice-T is on the cover alone since he's not the main character or even the bad guybut is a fun B-flick. It's nice seeing James Russo as the good guy for once, he's usually an abusive husband or a corrupt cop or someone evil. It's nothing special but it's good cheesey popcorn fun.
(ca) wrote: Good. Then a twist. Better. Then the ending. Well, there had to be an ending of some sort. The on screen compatibility makes this. Kiefer helps... he's a bad guy with depth of character. Otherwise, there isn't much action. And the story has been done before.
(gb) wrote: Enjoyable, if generic, thriller. A hot woman, Claire, who works in media wants to spice things up with her husband and eventually have kids but he's a bit on the boring side. One night at a hotel she sees a double of her husband and thinking its him finally spicing things up and playing some role playing game, Claire ends up shagging him. Later, after another sexy meeting, she finds out it's not her husband but it's to late and the man goes full on stalker, using the fact he looks exactly like Claire's husband to his advantage. Ok, so this hasn't got enough sex in it to be deemed an "erotic thriller" so is more just a slightly entertaining thriller with passable performances and a decent enough plot to keep you interested. Plus Willa Ford has a great pair of tits. Not exactly great but there are worse films you could spend 90-odd minutes watching.

(es) wrote: An interesting thriller, but I wasn't taken like I wanted to be. The characters were all a little conveniently one-sided and the cinematography had that zoom-happy 70s/80s look I find distracting. Still, it had its moments.

(it) wrote: Has its moments but mostly formulaic and dull. The (true) story of how a US sports agent goes to India to find baseball pitchers, stages a competition to unearth them, takes the two winners' back to the US and tries to get them contracts with MLB teams. From the start the movie feels trite and overly sugary. Yes, the setting is fairly original but it just feels like we've been down this road before. Maybe it because it is told in a made-for-TV/kids sort of way.The movie is not without its upsides though. There are some funny moments and the John Hamm-Lake Bell relationship was interesting. For all its portrayal of a reasonably important event in baseball history, the movie just feels very flat.
(ru) wrote: A thoroughly derivative but still somewhat enjoyable found footage horror film, The Bell Witch Haunting is perhaps most creepy in its somewhat blatant attention to the supposedly teenage girls' bodies in the films. There is definitely some male gaze going on here....The found footage aspect does not always make complete sense, but the movie is relatively enjoyable nonetheless if you are someone like me who still wants to watch every example of the genre.
