Ted N (us) wrote: Rather too gentle and nostalgic coming-of-age movie featuring Annette Bening (who can do no wrong in my eyes) and a fine cast in a pleasant, mostly charming, wryly amusing account of three women of different generations living under her roof (she's a kind of Mrs Madrigal, if you remember Armistead Maupin) in 1979. Each character seems to know they are unsure about themselves, and about those around them; but the greater unknowns are not inside, but out. None can know what is really awaiting them. Punk is almost dead already, and Reagan is about to come and light the fuse that leads to Trump. The world is about to change in ways they cannot know, and all their personal problems will count for nothing in the tide of history that will sweep them along - and away. Superb performances from all. Overall effect - rather depressing. Why anyone expects this to be a 'comedy', I have no idea.

And yes I also liked the reboot. we had Ghostbusters the male version. For what this movie is worth it's good. Im not going to say it's great. But I still think that it's a good film. It's especially good around Halloween aside from The Conjuring 1 and 2. I didn't like this film though as much as I did as the reboot. But for what it's worth I still think its good. Check it out when you get the chance.

The character challenges us to separate fact from during her final salutations.

Some initial suspension of credibility issues as we put on our Sci-Fi caps late in the first act, but the fungible reality set up pays off in the late acts as we're taken on a "What is real?" ride to a satisfying rom-com conclusion. Got a special someone who doesn't quite grok your geekiness? This is your date movie!
