It's really lovely seeing a group of people bonding over such a basic concept as magical friendship.Makes me hopeful about the future.I wish I was half that put together as a kid.I think I might have to watch the cartoon now.

Although it can be over-the-top at times, it blends a good balance of drama, humor, and slick fight sequences. Both voiceover and subtitled in English. A nice little modern martial arts dramatic action flick.

Chris A (kr) wrote: Yes, well...there it is. Completely screwed up. Kinda funny but not really because it's too busy saying something about hypocrisy and that's not particularly funny. Shows a lot of societal ugliness of the time and we've not really gotten far from it so it's still relevant. Worth it for the painting scene and the dog newscast.

Stephen Z (jp) wrote: Dutifully serving as director, producer, and star, Kevin Costner has crafted a true masterpiece with his Western drama, "Dances with Wolves". Costner's performance - as well as the performances of Mary McDonnell and Graham Greene - are marvelous, as is the simple, dramatic nature of the film. But most marvelous of all is how beautifully shot this film is. The cinematography is truly something to behold! To my knowledge, there is not another film that honors and pays more respect to the Native Americans and their way of life than this film does. The attention to detail and the amount of time dedicated to exploring this world are among its many assets. "Dances with Wolves" serves as an excellent reminder of how film can be used to explore the beauty and wonder of other cultures.
