Steve F (ca) wrote: This I should essentially a film where a guy named Driver plays a driver from Paterson named Paterson. Sadly, I think that's where the poetic brilliance ends. I'm a poet from Paterson, and while it was nice to see home from a cinematic perspective; I saw literally nothing else. Paterson goes to work, writes poems, observes his surroundings, goes home to his wife, walks his dog, the end. Literally, the end. Nothing else happens in this movie. I've completely failed to grasp the concept of why someone felt the desire to bring this into production. If the poetry had connected with me on some level I would be singing a completely different tune. But with such gems like:"these are my favorite matchesThey have blue tips. We used to like (x brand) matches better, but now we like these" (Paraphrase.. the actual terminology was just not that memorable), I found myself wondering if I was being pinker. My girlfriend didn't last 20 minutes, but I dilligently sat through this movie, amazed only at how I was able to stay awake.
Donnie B (ag) wrote: Killer Joe is a potent little movie that is both thrilling and vulgar; the comedic backdrop only heightens the tension - a smart blending to be sure. Still, this is a fine example of why Hirsch's career never really gained traction.
JPaul M (kr) wrote: The script needs some polishing. The acting . . . . . needs more practice. A noble attempt at a good story, but nonetheless unsuccessful.
Istvan G (nl) wrote: Great story. Timothy Hutton is always good at being the bad guy, This movie put me in a constant state of Anxiety till the end. Jolie is awesome, Duchovny is great & it's cool to see him as someone other than Molder from X Files. See this movie you'll be pleasently Surprised

Tommy H (nl) wrote: I love this movie. It's juvenile, but at the same time it takes the story seriously and there's even elements of horror. The acting is surprisingly subdued. Usually in these old movies the actors are very animated in an unrealistic way, probably to make kids happy who watch the movies. In Rodan, it isn't great acting, but it isn't all played for laughs. It's a movie both kids and adults can enjoy. But the highlight, of course, is the monster. It looks like a giant toy and it makes the movie so much fun. I honestly think it's cool, not just silly. I can't help but think of how excited I'd get if when I was a kid my toys came to life. Rodan is a movie made for the kid in all of us.
