Alvin C (de) wrote: A very very very toned down version of OLDBOY. Boasts an incredible soundtrack.

Ali M (ag) wrote: The story was very clever and I could not believe that this was made on a shoestring budget by an independent filmmaker. It honestly looked more like a studio film. I laughed out loud, and was surprised by a little twist when Will decides to return to when he dug up the relic. The only fault I found was the Dad character. The actor played the character a little one dimensional, but since it is a comedy it still works.

Kevin D (ca) wrote: A lot of critics wrote this of as a "The Hustler" or "The Color of Money" wannabe. I watched the first half of The Hustler last week and thought that the first half hour of pool was good, but the shmaltzy romance story put a dent in everything that movie was doing right and as a result, it bored me. I hear that that movie is a classic, so I may check it out in the future. Right now I'm an avid student of pool and Poolhall Junkies is my textbook. I could watch this movie 2 or 3 times in a row and still not be bored. This is a movie that is honest with itself: it isn't a prestige picture, it's not a relationship movie, it's a pool movie, so most of it consists of pool. The story line is involving, albeit standard. If you're a pool enthusiast, you will be taken in by the action right from the start. The games and hustle maneuvers are fun to watch. The characters are all interesting in some way and the acting, especially by Chazz Palminteri, Rick Schroder, Michael Rosenbaum, and Christopher Walken is always flashy and entertaining. The main plot takes a while to develop, which my be a bad think for non-pool fans, but why would they be watching in the first place? Well, actually, my sister is not much of a pool fan and she liked the movie a lot. Basically, if you like hustling movies or character driven pieces, you'll like this one. You'll love it if you like confrontational scenes and entertaining and witty dialogue. The movie has a grimy stlye that most people criticize. Whether it was intentional to reinforce the dark underworld of pool or simply a really low budget to blame, I was okay with the look of the film. Mars Callahan might not be the best actor or director in the world, but he did his best. He let the screenplay and great pool playing speak for itself. This movie will hook you right in for an inside look at the underground world of pool.

Alex M (mx) wrote: This movie was a fantastical depiction of the troubles of growing up and loneliness through an adventure in fear, wonder, anger, helplessness, love, and acceptance. Beautiful crafted with an spot-on soundtrack by Karen O that perfectly captures the raw energy and wild essence of the movie

Citien P (au) wrote: Very simple and familiar James Stewart western.

Thomas A (es) wrote: A very engaging heist movie set in UK and Malaysia. Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones have an unusual chemistry (considering their age difference), but overall it's fine.

Evan J (de) wrote: "Fuck this ship!"Event Horizon is by far Paul W.S. Anderson's best film. The concept behind the film is great. Sam Neill give a great performance. While the special effects have dated, the visuals are really damn good. The blend of science fiction, thrills, and horror is balanced perfectly. There's plenty of creepy moments, but there's also some genuinely scary stuff.

Janette R (us) wrote: Not much to the movie.

Lee M (de) wrote: Ultimately Rabid boils down to zombified sluts and shock moments but it's a combination that Cronenberg handles well.

Mike M (mx) wrote: Quite brilliant when viewed separately as they were meant. "Her" is the much more compelling portrait, but taken together, the movies are an interesting look at two sides of a single story and the subtle differences in how we perceive and remember things

Stacey O (es) wrote: Still love this film. Fun, silly, dance flick.
