Jerome K (nl) wrote: This was a painful movie to watch. I'm not saying that it was awful, (although some parts had me bored). It's just hard to watch a dysfunctional relationship, especially one wherein one partner causes so much suffering to the other. It's definitely not a "feel good" movie. Thure Lindhardt gives an excellent performance playing the tortured lead.

JuJu G (fr) wrote: man, the end/twist of this movie is better than the whole thing

Walead W (it) wrote: the documentary was so much better. it's hard to imagine this made durst cry.

Khurram A (mx) wrote: This was a very beautiful movie equipped with xcellent performances...

Stacie G (it) wrote: What a GREAT line: "That was ... sneaky." Lol! Enjoyed this twisted, dark, amusing, film very much. Guy Pearce = dreamy and a wonderful actor. Although I think Robert Carlyle might very well have outdone him!

Ted C (ca) wrote: Beautiful and empty.

Hobie P (gb) wrote: Boring! Not one of the 70's classics.

Patrick D (gb) wrote: i was definitely caught off guard on this one. Recently, I've just been trying to find excellent horror films from the past, because I'm tired of the tripe Hollywood churns out these days, lame excuses of horror (minus Drag Me to Hell). So seeing this was like a breath of fresh air. And Soon the Darkness favors tension and suspense rather than in-your-face horror and jump-a-minute scares, and oh is it great at tension. I could never tell where anything was going, and that is any film's strongest point, where you have no absolute idea how anything will turn out. If you enjoy horror films at all, And Soon the Darkness is a must-see.

Matt M (jp) wrote: As he did with Breathless, Godard pays tribute to the Monogram Pictures like crime drama genre but extends the boundaries of the conventional storyline by filling it with plenty of creative moments that go from the extremes of highly philosophical to silly randomness.
