The Rascals want to help grandma save her shop from a ruthless student who is rich and wants to tear the shop and their tree house down. The Rascals partake in several money making ventures, including a music contest, to stop the rich kid."Simmer down, hot sauce."Alex Zamm, director of Inspector Gadget 2, Jingle all the Way 2, A Royal Christmas, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2, and Dr. Doolittle: Million Dollar Mutts, delivers Little Rascals Save the Day. The storyline for this picture is as you would expect for the genre and the acting falls in line with other children's films."It gets three miles to the bone."I came across this on Netflix and thought it would be an interesting movie to watch with my daughter, so we did. This was fairly well done for a kids movie but it is definitely nothing special and far from a must see. I wouldn't add this to your child's DVD collection but it's worth watching once if nothing better is available."A good leader also has to be a good listener."Grade: C-

Lake, brilliantly played by Pier-Gabriel Lajoie, is an 18-year old boy who takes a summer job as an orderly at a Montreal nursing home where his mother works. While working there, Luke finds himself sexually and emotionally attracted to elderly men. He is especially enthralled by an 81-year old black man named Mr. Peabody (sensitively played by Walter Borden), and he falls in love with him. Lake comes to discover that Mr. Peabody is being given psychotropic drugs to keep him in a catatonic state to prevent him from being troublesome at nursing home. He arranges for Mr. Peabody's escape and the two take a trip across the country to fulfill Mr. Peabody's last wish - to see the Pacific Ocean. Along the way, Lake gets closer to Mr. Peabody, even to the point of extreme jealousy. But a surprise turn comes along that changes everything. Once of the best movies of the gay genre I have seen in years.

Ellis W (gb) wrote: Some aspects of the translation from novel to screen have not been handling as well as you might hope, including the very final act and a sub plot involving Ericka Berger for some reason being completely forgotten after a while. But nevertheless this is a satisfying conclusion to the Millenium trilogy, maintaining the suspense with Noomi Rapace and Michael Nyqvist proving themselves as worthy leads once again, and will most certainly please fans of Stieg Larsson's series.

David C (ag) wrote: Wasn't a horrible film but it just doesn't have that "it" factor that makes you not want to shut it off. Fell asleep the first time through so I had to watch it again just to finish the film.

Charles R (br) wrote: EW pretty much sums up my thoughts: "Honors the affectless beauty of the original anime art and maintains the outlaw boppiness of the series concept." 4/5 Series fans may still 'gripe' that the movie really just feels like a seriously decompressed episode where the big action is spread too far between long shots with inner monologues and flashbacks (much like Drive did with too many action sequences broken up by ultra-quiet brooding scenes where there's no dramatic tension, and action that just unfolded before seems to have been forgotten.)

Thomas N (es) wrote: This movie is crap. It has an unneeded villain, crush, cliched characters, dated characters, and they ruined the Once-ler who was perfect in the original. Don't watch this abomination and go watch the original.
