Maddison B (gb) wrote: The Raid 2: Berandal steps up in scope and territory but doesn't hold up to the novelty of its predecessor. A bulkier and slower set up then the first film, the sheer inventiveness of carnage will kill you enthralled but the intensity falls flat when the action stops. Only hours after the first film, Rama (Iko Uwais) goes undercover with the thugs of Jakarta, planning to bring down the syndicate and uncover the corruption within the police force. Gareth Evan's follow up martial arts spectacular doesn't disappoint with its heavily precise choreographed action. An early prison riot scene is startlingly harsh, as the roving camera hurtles between mud slathered combatants. The virtuosic camerawork mares well with the high energy plot and the over the top violence, a kitchen set showdown and a dizzying car chase sequence are among the best action set pieces seen in modern cinema. While it's a visual feast to experience, it has its flaws. I wanted to love this movie, but with a plot that's a bit superfluous and a little on the long side, the pacing issues are really detrimental and the film just doesn't possess the same charm from the original. Running at 150 minutes, the jaw dropping action sequences are worth it in the end. Remaining stylish in a blur of insane brutality, The Raid films are unquestionably on a whole other level to anything else in the action genre.
Gemma M (nl) wrote: A somewhat Scooby-Doo like plot can definitely be forgiven with the introduction of smart yet cool characters displaying that learning and inventing can be fun not to mention the adorable Baymax! Not only this, the underlying theme of loss and grief are portrayed beautifully in a way in which all ages can relate and understand - definitely a touching yet entertaining movie.
Kefu Z (es) wrote: Amazing animation like its predecessor, but I did not recognize its true goodness after I watched its predecessor and watched this again. Too sad DreamWorks is not as recognizable as Disney. Also it is unlike Frozen and Cinderella which are based off some traditional stories. Good job for DreamWorks to establish another great milestone to one of its major franchises. Now How to Train Your Dragon is topped up and even Frozen, Brave, Cinderella and Kung Fu Panda can barely make it up (I watched all of them and no wonder these films are still highly welcomed but none of which exceeds the Tomatometer of this one)

Shaeda M (br) wrote: Truthful to a Bandharkar movie, it aims at denouncing about an indian institution, here the jails, the prosecution, the justice machinery. Great movie, even with flows in actong and not original soundtrack.
Ingela A (nl) wrote: Rodrigo Garcia, the writer, director of "Mother And Child" is the son of Gabriel Garcia Marquez no less but his universe is solidly set on a reality that doesn't shy away from poetry. A poetry emerging from an open female heart. Wanting and longing for things we lost, for thing we let out of our lives. Annette Bening is superb. "She's 38 today" Annette tells her failing mother, talking about the daughter she gave up for adoption when she was merely 14. Naomi Watts is the long lost daughter and she is an updated version of the mother she never knew. Naomi Watts confirms, once more, her extraordinary range. The film works on every level and we live the changes the characters suffer with a palpitating heart of recognition. The entire cast is outstanding with Samuel L Jacksong giving a performance that is a revelation in itself. Even though it IS a bit Hollywoodish, it is gentle, strong, moving, powerful and funny. A film I highly recommend

George I (mx) wrote: Now this movie isnt phenomenol, it isnt fantastic, its just solid, it can be depressing i can guarantee you that for damn sure. Now the performances weren't nowhere near top notch, believe it or not the best performances here lie with Jessica Biel and Curtis 50 Cent Jackson. Samuel L. Jackson seemed tiredsome and mediocre as well as Brian Presley, the small performance by Christina Ricci was somewhat of a small treat, and the fact that they chose to kill off Chad Michael Murray early was a great move because the truth of the matter is that hes just a pretty face with no talent what so ever.I wanted to like this movie more than i actually do but unfortunately the performances were a bit lacking, the story was just ok and the ending was just ehhhh almost bleh. So is this worth watching sure some fans of Military Themed films might actually enjoy this more than others. But there is moments that can be really funny which was a major perk to this film.
