After World War II, Antonia and her daughter, Danielle, go back to their Dutch hometown, where Antonia's late mother has bestowed a small farm upon her. There, Antonia settles down and joins a tightly-knit but unusual community. Those around her include quirky friend Crooked Finger, would-be suitor Bas and, eventually for Antonia, a granddaughter and great-granddaughter who help create a strong family of empowered women.

Ian B (gb) wrote: A character study of sorts that drew me in and kept me watching from start to finish. Not very much dialogue but totally engrossing. I was captivated by Jara, a security guard in a supermarket, and his attempts to woo one of the cleaners he worked with. Highly recommended.

Ryan B (fr) wrote: The issue behind the movie wasn't Phillip's talent - he did an amazing job holding his role. Beside his acting, the movie was boring and had no direction worth waiting for. Overall, the movie was terrible.

Nell H (kr) wrote: Quirky and wonderful. One of my all-time favorites. I love the soundtrack, too.

Robert G (mx) wrote: I came out of this one thinking what the heck just happened. I like Robert Downey Jr., I think his acting style is one of the best out there and I also like Heather Graham. I think that Graham is in the to five actress out there. It pains me to write such a bad review for a movie with to of my favorites, but its not their fault. The acting was great, all around. But the story sucked. There is nothing to say about the story, it is just about two girls finding out they are going out with the same guy. I was completely let down by this film.

Henning G (es) wrote: Saw it with friends last night. Good movie, kinda stylized film noir. But to be honest- bad Kafka. He would never come up with something as blunt as a pure evil plot.

Paul N (kr) wrote: Hilarious take on neurotic relationships and fear of loneliness. Bubbles with brilliant observations and fearless characterisation.

Darrin C (kr) wrote: A great Spaghetti Western with an American star. I love revenge flicks with such an awesome score that Kill Bill had to steal much of it!

Joetaeb D (es) wrote: While it's more amusingly entertaining than actually scary, Child's play gets points for delivering solid film entertainment, a well thought story and a memorable villain in the form of Chucky the killer doll.
