Ryan T (de) wrote: A good story that fulfills both its functions in telling a story about a father and son and also the current concerns of Native Americans. I have never thought Adam Beach was a very good actor, and this film doesn't change that, but the other characters are quirky and real enough that his performance can be overlooked.

John R (fr) wrote: Great characters portrayed by some really big Western movie actors. Lots of action. Story of how Teddy ROOSEVELT's Rough Riders came together and their involvement in the Spanish Civil War.

Grayson D (us) wrote: Very hit and mostly miss compedium horror.

Senor C (it) wrote: Im a big fan of The Dukes of Hazzard. It was a big part of my childhood & is one of those shows that I watch now & enjoy just as much if not more. The Moonrunners is the movie that is mostly directly responsible for its existence. You get Uncle Jesse, Sheriff Rosco Coltrane, Cooter, the Boars Nest as well as fast car driving cousins. The Dukes of Hazzard just took the basic principles, added a bad ass car & made them a pop culture phenomena. After watching Moonrunners I actually wish the Dukes was about moonshiners instead of everyone being on probation. Fans of the show (& fans of great drive-in) need to check this movie out. Although not as charismatic the TV show it's still cool shit & is almost as good as Burt Reynolds' White Lightning

Jesse L (br) wrote: (Theatre) (First Viewing, 3rd Clment film) Kind of a French A Bridge Too Far, basically meaning there's enough combined talent involved to make several prestigious films. Just look at the cast: Alain Delon, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Orson Welles, Leslie Caron, Charles Boyer, Anthony Perkins, Gert Frbe (better known as Goldfinger), Simone Signoret, Glenn Ford, Robert Stack, Yves Montand, George Chakiris, Kirk Douglas, Michel Picolli, and in the second 1966 film I've seen him in today, Jean-Louis Trintignant. Then there's revered French director Rne Clment behind the camera and a script by Gore Vidal and Francis Ford Coppola. It's amazing with so much talent involved that this still ended up being a turkey. Is Paris Burning? is solid filmmaking, but there's nothing remotely distinctive about it. The black and white cinematography, art direction and costume design is all first rate (the Maurice Jarre score is dreadful, however, and confirms my opinion he's the most overrated film composer ever). There's some effective use of documentary footage. There's even a slew of nice moments scattered throughout the film- but the massive scope crushes these individual moments so hardly any impact registers. The story, about the French Resistence and Hitler's plot to destroy Paris, is a fascinating one, but Is Paris Burning? plods along that it becomes nothing but a dull and bloated three hour mess. Thankfully I saw this on the big screen, as I don't know if I wouldn't have been able to handle it otherwise.

Panayiota K (ru) wrote: I can't believe i had to watch a stupid western just to enjoy a bit of Montgomery Clft. I mean who cares about an old cowboy and his cows in the middle of nowhere? Plus John Wayne spoke in the same tone and facial expression in all his scenes, and the fight scene was anticlimactic.
