Brian C (gb) wrote: Excellent character piece of a insecure and depressed woman trying to boost her self-esteem by getting a tattoo. However, over time the tattoo develops a voice of its own and starts influencing her down a very dark path. The acting is really good, especially the lady who plays Koffie. The other supporting actors were hit and miss depending on their scene. This story is very sad but relatable; her descent into madness was very well done.

Paul J (br) wrote: I am a fan of B-movies, specifically B-horror, but this doesn't even classify as a B level movie as most would have you believe. While the direction and look of the movie are about B level, the writing, acting, and humor are just shit. Most B-movies are known for overacting, this would have worked well in the film.... had anyone actually acted. The people in the film just appear to be repeating lines they once read. Perhaps it was the writing that should take a lot of the blame though, people don't talk or act the way these people talk and act. Even the humor doesn't land, which is basically a because of a combination the the former points I've made. Perhaps a movie to make fun of with your friends, but just do your best to never spend any money on this.

David M (ag) wrote: This falls into the category of movie I didnt watch for a long time, and now regret doing so. The setup is very cliche and been done a thousand times. A man falls for two girls, and must choose between them. But this film takes every cliched moment and plot point and earns the expected outcomes by investing in character and setting and really using the characters to motivate the choices. Phoenix is a troubled young man, who has a past of suicide and depression, and is bipolar. He meets two girls. A blonde (Paltrow) also a wreck, and a nice traditional Jewish girl who is a friend of the family, and the families would love for them to marry. It handles these situations delicately and never forces any moments that could become headshakers otherwise. It ends up being a metaphor for his demons, does he go for the crazy girl and indulge all the negative urges of his inner demons, or choose happiness. Happiness is so much harder, the allure so strong to just let loose. Phoenix is terrific, and is matched by the female leads. A very human tale, that deserves a watch, I'm sorry I took so long.

Calvin R (nl) wrote: Valkyrie could have been a excellent historical thriller. However, it settles for a good entertaing thriller. Great performance by the cast, especially Tom Cruise, decent thrills, good potent action sequence, and the story was tweaked a bit, but it still was a good entertaining film.

Christian R (au) wrote: This is one of the "it's so bad it's good" type movies. This one has surprisingly good special effects--although still camp--especially at the end.

Bryan P (kr) wrote: A film from my childhood. After playing the game on the mega drive, the film at the time i thought was fantastic to see all the characters from the game. My favourite character was Scorpion shouting "come over here". Looking back the film is still good but not as good when you were younger, still worth a watch though.

lisa p (au) wrote: Honestly I didn't like it. It was scary to watch at times and all. But at the same time kinda good. I decided to watch it only cus we have to read this book for ib la class.

Jeremy S (it) wrote: A HORRIBLE movie but one to watch for laughs....when you're not supposed to be laughing

Wes S (nl) wrote: Scrambled plot, long boring dialog scenes, and terrible effects. Very little is explained, and there's hardly anything to hold your attention. It gets better by the last act, but it takes so long to get there.

James H (ca) wrote: Generally routine war story, notable for a good and unusual cast. I am sure it was meant to be a more significant film than it turned out to be. Steve Mc Queen is not at his best, he is too melodramatic and intense, He definitely overdoes it. All in all though, it's decent. Well filmed. I wasn't too impressed with the sets.

Ryan V (ru) wrote: This sequel to Creature From The Black Lagoon finds another team attempting to capture the Gill-Man. This group succeeds, and the beast is then confined to an aquarium for study, exhibition, and experimentation. One of these "experiments" is to display food to the Creature and then shock him with a cattle prod when he ignores commands to not take it. Naturally, everyone except the audience is surprised when the Gill-Man freaks out, escapes from his prison, and starts killing humans. The novelty of the first film has worn off, but Revenge of the Creature is still a fun and somewhat corny treat for vintage horror buffs.
