(gb) wrote: Average comedy from the early 90s starring Bette Midler and Woody Allen, about a middle aged couple that go to the mall and reveal to each other that they each have been having affairs. It isn't directed or even written by Allen, but it feels like a hollow version of one of his films, as it deals with similar subject matter and has the same old style music. The movie just has nothing all that spectacular, and can be easily skipped.

(gb) wrote: Unfortunately, this great looking film, though featuring scattered "moments of glory", just isn't up to par with Bresson's other work. The style manages to shine, but Bresson phoned in the content on this picture. Far from Balthazar or Country Priest.
(br) wrote: One must notice that during the 1950s there were so many movies that dealt with nuclear radiation, that brings out the beast in these creatures, and this film is no different. Just to see the graphics back then is worth watching this film. For me, it was an so-so film.
(nl) wrote: It barely gets fresh because of the sci-fi aspect, Denzel Washington, and the villain, but I won't spoil who the actor is. That actor gives a great performance, but unfortunately is underused, and not very well written. And the fact that it's a little over 2 hours, and it didn't feel like it. Yes, it did feel long, but not that long. I didn't like the romance aspect. It was cheesy and unoriginal. But, I guess it was semi believable because when working a murder case, you could become attached. Val Kilmer and the rest of his team were all underused, as well as Bruce Greenwood. But it's nice to see them! Director Tony Scott did a poor and messy job, but thanks to the good enough writing, and almost perfect performances, it's not bad. I think this would be a perfect one to catch on TV or for free streaming somewhere.
(ag) wrote: Fun, positive, and uplifting drama, with a touch of romance. Hanks and Mbatha are both charming. The whole tone is delightfully positive.
(au) wrote: Not the greatest movie of all time, but classic scene when the teacher dies behind his newspaper and no one notices.
(ag) wrote: As utterly captivating as it is heartbreaking. Thoughtful, confronting, challenging, at times gleefully funny, other times vividly tragic, but above all memorable and rewarding. The musical theme by Ludovico Einaudi is a suitable classic for the ages. This one stays with you, for good or bad.
(fr) wrote: touching and beautiful film. Sidney Poitier compelling and Gleeson is gorgeous.
