Mark W (jp) wrote: I was actually surprised by this film, Axis of Evil may have been a very slight step up but this film was an even further step up... Admittedly we now need to move away from the Nazi stories and bring it back to modern times because if Band pushes the war stuff any further people will quickly lose interest! The acting may have been pretty bad; but Band produced quite a polished title for what little budget he had! Overall its worth the look but I hope and pray we don't get any-more Nazi efforts!

John N (ag) wrote: This is such a beautiful and heart-warming film. It's premise is complimentary towards "The Wizard of Oz" in that the protagonist is discontent with life and dreams of something better in a far-off land. In this film, like "The Wizard of Oz", the hero "flies" to a beautiful new world filled with fascinating characters where he (or she) discovers a new understanding of home and, ultimately, the inherent value of the ordinary. I highly recommend this great little movie.

Farah R (es) wrote: An interesting, solid mystery with great performances. It felt too much like an Agatha Christie novel: intriguing and suspenseful until the end.

Nina G (br) wrote: Even the best laid plans of mice and men oft go awry. And "Jean de Florette" is a beautiful story that does not escape this fate. The characters are complex, and family relations may leave you slightly confused as they become entangled in their emotions.

Ed T (us) wrote: A classic '70's martial arts picture; great cast of actors who would go on to star in their own films.

Corey n (us) wrote: This is a decent comedy starring Cary Grant. Basic plot is Cary Grant plays a drunken scoundrel during WWII. He ends up monitoring Japanese air activity for the Australian Navy on a remote island in the Pacific. He is sent to retrieve a fellow spotter from another island but ends up saving a school teacher and some of her female students who crashed on the island. This film mixes a nice blend of comedy, romance and even some suspense. Cary Grant is excellent as usual in his role. He wanted to stay clear of his usual role of a suave gentlemen and play this mean drunk loner. He does a perfect job at that and blends his perfect comedy style with the character. Grant only does one more movie after this since he couldn't get more roles like he had in this film. A shame since he was such a talented actor who could play almost any type of role. Overall this is a fun film. Grant makes this a film worth watching.
