Åsa-Nisse - Wälkom to Knohult

Just a really bad movie, about a guy who finds oil.

In Knohult things havn't changed much. Eulalia is tired of Nisse who's engaged in all sorts of inventions in his workshop or poaching in the forest rather than to repair the water pump. When Eulalia in protest begins swimming in soft drinks and water the plants with spirit Åsa-Nisse sees nothing else to do but to repair the pump. As with all his inventions he adds a few extra features ... When he starts the machine the ground rumbles and up comes oil instead of water! Now, not only Åsa-Nisse, but the whole Knohult sees their chance to become wealthy! But "Dunderpumpen", as he calles the invention, turns out to be stronger than anyone had imagined, and when shady Scanian oil magnates with support of the Swedish government wants their share of the pie Knohult declares themselves a republic... . Simon V (br) wrote: A scintillating look at a shameful moment for British imperial history - and a triumph for the country of Botswana, and its two leading citizens. Should be compulsory viewing for all students of African history - and anyone who enjoys a great underdog story. Superbly acted by the two lead actors, and with a solid supporting cast, the script is razor sharp, but the backdrop is the real winner, with superb cinematography highlighting the vast southern African vistas.

Anthony V (au) wrote: Nice little story of the hardships of early marriage life. Well acted and directed with a witty and touching script. A movie which should be viewed by all young couples headed towards marriage. A real sleeper treat.

Laugh T (us) wrote: This film had amazingly well done visuals, with good use of angles, texture, light and shadows as well as a decent use of sound. unfortunately, it suffers from a very weak narrative, undeveloped protagonists, and an antagonist (the supernatural force) that in no way is original (beyond the use of fish as a scare tactic) with a shoe horned plot device to explain its past. the relationship between the protagonist couple and the antagonist is non-existent, and the ending makes even less sense because of this. Its basically like watching a documentary or a well done travel video and then a story stumbles drunkenly on set from time to time.

Olivier B (us) wrote: After the awesomeness of the first this is a bit of a letdown. It takes 55 minutes to see Victor Crowley (except a the beginning), but it's worth it. The kills are even more discusting (in a fun way) and we also have again an abrubt ending.

Sylvester K (br) wrote: Unique storyline with some random deaths. not too bad for a casual horror film marathon
