Daniel Y (nl) wrote: Grindhouse is a fun double feature that displays that Rodriguez (Planet Terror) and Tarantino (Death Proof) both know how to work off eachother to produce two fun B movies that are amusing on a spectacle level (more on Planet Terror) and on a witty side (more on Death Proof).

William F (mx) wrote: Definitely the weakest of the bunch. On one hand, this film has lots of great elements and dark themes that expand on the story and prepare for a grand finale. But on the other hand, there's also a lot of tedious moments, and too much focus on the romance, for the film to equalize itself and make it worth the while. The characters are there and still fun to watch grow up, but the story is something of a mess (one great story continuously clashing with another story that's not so great). The atmosphere is still great, as are the visuals. It's a tolerable watch, and an entertaining one still. Just be ready for a bit of a chore to try and get through the other half of this film.

Nicki M (jp) wrote: This is a great movie. I first watched it a few years ago, and I couldn't remember a great deal about it, aside from that I enjoyed it. Had a few hours this afternoon, (and I mean that literally, it is over 2 hours long). This is a black comedy and has a great cast including Maggie Gylenhaal in an early role (probably my favourite character in this. She is not especially likable, but I did like her, she plays the part in such a way that you want to make excuses for her). There's also Lisa Kudrow in sour and bitchy mode, similar to the character she played in The opposite of sex, which I think was the same director, which explains a few things. The two movies definitely have similarities. I really liked how this movie ran so many different stories together, and how it used text to narrate some of the story. An interesting and well written story.

Peter P (fr) wrote: Top three best Cruise role. Probably his best as far as a time-spanning dynamic part. And hey, it's a great film too.

Zhixi L (es) wrote: I think Applause is a very memorable movie, and all the actors' performances are very professional and exciting. I like the way the director of photography uses a lot of darkness in the background to express the inner feelings of Paprika Steen (playing Thea Barfoed).Thea's life is like the overcast sky and cold weather of Denmark in this film, and we can feel and see what Paprika wants to show the audience. The cinematography was well done. I highly recommend it.

Sam K (kr) wrote: Gerard Butler is awesome in this one. It takes a look at society for exactly what it is. The action is pretty cool, but the philosophy is even cooler.

Alaeddine E (ru) wrote: This is a masterpiece in storytelling. The cinematography, the flashback sequences and the acting are top notch. It holds nothing back from the sad, macabre and sometimes gory reality of the life in the slums,It has comedic and tragic elements that play well together in engaging the viewer. The high octane action sequences get tiring early into the movie however.

Phil T (nl) wrote: Hooked from start to finish, and I nearly, oh so nearly, started to shed a tear. It was a really good film. I loved it.

Cheryl B (it) wrote: Fascinating. Just when you thought you had heard everything about Whitey & company, more info unfolds in this documentary. This covers the trial - was he an informant, how much did the FBI know about what he was doing and let him run rampant, etc. I felt I needed a scorecard to keep all the characters straight.
