Shantell P (ru) wrote: This is my favourite storm disaster movie, so far. It's hilariously awful, with lots of eye porn for disaster movie lovers such as myself. This is what Day After Tomorrow tried to be, but without the wolves and outrunnable frost.
Kasun E (ru) wrote: Creates a good plot which really alludes to the sector of students in a dilemma between studies and sports. But the movie never has a proper flow in it! The sudden shift of Mom's attitude, sudden union with the coach and more significantly the development of relationship with the boy which is ill-treated in the movie are clearly drawbacks! Michelle is having a good run for her money in the movie which i think is a little veiled by the poor flow. But still a watchable movie!

Howard B (gb) wrote: It is one thing to make a film that uses it's time wisely and another to make a film that doesn't outstay it's welcome. Phone both wins on both fronts as a pacey and involving story about a white-collar-wannabe who has his life broken down and unraveled by a simple phone call. There are some good turns in this one, but it is basically down to Colin Farrell and Kiefer Sutherland to display drama in it's rawest form; a conversation with many consequences attached. A pleasingly unique and enjoyable film.

James Z (jp) wrote: lively, breathtaking flight sequences and pounding score. only the story lacks true substance and the flat, raf base backdrop needed to be fixed. nonetheless, a terrific ride and great war film.
Eric H (es) wrote: First of all I think the naming of the movie was rather irrelevant... "Marriage Italian Style"! Well it was about everything but Italian style marriage. They named it after the great "Divorce Italian Style" to lure audience into cinema but that's not really important. It was a descent movie despite the Very flat opening, cheesy flash backs, Not so great performances but overall probably because of chemistry between Sophia Loren and Marcello Mastroianni it turned out to be a memorable romance drama movie which doesn't hurt to watch but not essential. I can't think it could be better than this because the potential was very limited in first place. For what it was, it was a good NOT AWARD WORTHY movie.

Hawk (de) wrote: Empire Records is the 90's version of the Breakfast Club: it's a movie largely devoted to the lives of young people over the course of a single day in a single location. Like The Breakfast Club, the story is loose and a main narrative thread is mostly sacrificed for showcasing the hopes and fears of the young employees. I first saw this movie when I was twenty and, although I've never worked in a record shop, the movie feels strangely truthful. By the end of the film the record store comes to embody not just a place where the characters work but somewhat of a character in its own right: sheltering the characters from adulthood for just a bit longer. It's a fun movie and I highly recommend it.
