Going for a very visceral look to the film blood and gore abound, in a series of very violent deaths - teeth, chainsaws and shotguns being the main cause. The tone of the film is something akin to Reservoir Dogs but without the snappy dialogue and tunes, and is just concentrating on the exploitation side of things

Inconsistent storytelling, awful plotting & pacing, weird new characters (they even bring back Pegasus, but is never further explained, & never mentioned again in the anime save for the Dungeon Dice part), broken script, & a lost narrative (really, I didn't know what the point of the movie) makes this a complete failure. If you've watched the anime, this movie feels loosely attached to the franchise, almost just being own it's little film. The animation isn't worth talking about either. However, I do not agree that this should have landed on RT's "Worst of the Worst" list for various reasons.Craptastic film based on a great franchise (up to a certain point, that is). Adults or even fans of the franchise have no reason to sit through this, it's only for kids under the age of 10.

(jp) wrote: It is not bad, it is not good. There is nothing I could give to this film except the fact that I can't keep my eyes off it every time I see it, but only out of force that the movie actually pulls me roughly. The only thing I like about this film is the theme song, but the plot, actors, characters and even the effects and settings are creepy, disgusting and completely disturbing as Rob Zombie's videos
(br) wrote: I like Fred Astaire. I like Paulette Goddard. I like Artie Shaw's music. It would stand to reason that I liked this movie, but to tell the truth, I was disappointed. The story was rather unbelievable (Astaire and Burgess Meredith play college students), predictable, and unoriginal. When it tried to be funny, it didn't really work. However, it wasn't too unbearable; it was even entertaining at parts, but it definitely was not a high point for Astaire or Goddard.
