Hans L (ru) wrote: Mike Figgis' digital manifesto is a tour de force of formal and theoretical hijinks. A real time plot unfolds with four simultaneous on screen perspectives as a director tries to cast his new film and a woman obsesses over her lover's infidelities. Multiple characters and stories collide in an Altmanesque carnival but there's not an edit in sight. Fans of traditional narrative cinema would point to the fact that we know little of the characters or their motivations and care even less when it ends with murder. But it's exactly the tropes of film grammar and construction that are under digital scrutiny. Littered with sardonic humour and satirical flourishes Figgis bites the hand that feeds him and runs off with his bloody spoils.

John C (it) wrote: Great action film with an awesome aesthetic. I love the bizarre BDSM-outfitted wasteland gang.

Josh F (fr) wrote: Not what I expected. Loved Murray, but the rest was very underwhelming. Kinda sweet, just not many laughs.

Directors C (gb) wrote: A smartly made musical set at the time of absolute depression. All the cast are children and Bugsy Malone is one of the few films in which child actors I believe should win or at least be nominated for great acting achievment awards.

Dave R (us) wrote: a noir-ish lovers-on-the-run story: a young guy - bowie -breaks out of prison with 2 other guys; the 3 rob a bank and start spending their money but bowie gets married and wants to settle down; however his partners in crime have different plans. i recently watched the robert altman adaptation of this story (thieves like us) and i must say i liked this version much better. director nicholas ray uses some interesting shots in this movie considering it was his directorial debut - the aerial shots are quite unusual for a movie made in 1947.

Jason T (de) wrote: Could have been so much more. An interesting story and some decent action scenes for a low budget movie but the flow of the movie could be way better and feels very uneven. They manaage to make Mickey Rourke into a dull villian.

Joe M (ca) wrote: OK. Either I'm just not used to movie snobbery or I'm just older than most of you. I thought this was entertaining and insightful. War does horrible things to people and this is one movie that makes you think about it from a different perspective. Was Killing Season a 5 star movie? No. I give it a 4. However, most of the intellectual critics, on this site, loved 22 Jump Street. I'm just sayin'.....

Aaron M (ag) wrote: This is a very feel-good movie. Initially I didn't like this movie that much when I was younger, but as I've gotten older, I've found that I appreciate it a lot more. It has a great story, some of the most memorable characters I've ever seen, it's heartwarming and in my opinion, it is extremely funny.
