I loved that the whole lesson ended up being that it didn't matter if the kids made it to the top of the mountain, but rather the importance of trust, friendship and effort. I thought the stories of the children's lives were critical and would have liked to have seen more. It would be wonderful to have the mountain revisted when the kids are older in a 2nd film. Just to see/hear how their attempt impacted their lives.

Despite (nearly) all the action taking place in one jail cell, it never feels stagey, which is a testament to the direction, the script and the superb performances. Highly recommended for horror fans and certainly worth a watch even for those who are not devotees of the genre.
Hannah H (es) wrote: Regardless of how terrible they typically are, I have a soft spot for 90s horror flicks, and rarely turn them down. That being said, the film was choppy, unorganized and gruesome without any intriguing plot or climax. Thus: shock value.
