Justin A (jp) wrote: Very slow to get going. It at first feels like a retread of the same stuff for a little while. The opening is really cheesy, with footage played backwards from the first movie and a Batman TV show-like voice over recounting all the events of the first movie and where we are now. The kills are less memorable, and there isn't really a clear motive other than "fuck you, that's my eternal life water." The last half hour gets much better with the Saw-like elaborate traps that made the first movie so interesting. The ending is very abrupt, especially since you watch the entire movie wondering about this river, only to never actually see it. Vincent Price singing somewhere over the rainbow was classic though.

rocknblues 8 (us) wrote: Clint Eastwood stars as Wes Block. a New Orleans detective tracking down a man that kills prostitutes... Hears one catch.... The killer has some of the same fetishes and fantasies of Wes himself. Naturally, Wes begins to question himself and his beliefs alittle bit. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is pretty close to an unoffical part of the Dirty Harry series. The thing that makes this film alittle different is that he goes into more depth of the killer and overall feels like alot less of a commerical film. I think it's actually better than Dirty Harry... The killer seems more elusive and the movie just digs deeper into a plot. 10/10
