If real-deal actresses like these (Carla Gugino, Connie Britton...) are willing to do a script like this...then it can only be because it at least tries to give them human characters to play. And they want, they're *aching* to show what they can do. But it's like watching a beautiful, curvacious female try to walk in high heels with one broken. Promising, yes, but hobbled from the start.

(es) wrote: The cinematography is of course as beautiful as one would expect for a desert movie. The story is well scripted making for a delight that is at times humorous. The subplots are full of intrigue giving a mystery that adds flavor to the depth of the film. Acting is of fine worth making this film entertaining. Sets even though tents are well crafted making for a superb image. Nibbles: Dates, apples, grapes and cheese.

In Hideous Kinky, her character is a fascinating melange of gray shades - a drifty, unfocused mother who seems to have an unconscionable neglect for her husband and children, and then again, a sincere searcher of ecstatic truths that somehow returns to her senses and comes through her experience with two feet on the ground, but not by renouncing the passion and motives of her quest. Powerful, spiritual desires mix with mundane realities of human life. Great performances by the actors playing her children.

(ca) wrote: The Program is an interesting film about the doping scandal involving Lance Armstrong. However, it is never as good as it should be. Ben Foster excels in playing Lance Armstrong. He delivers a great performance. Chris O'Dowd and Jesse Pemons both deliver strong supporting performances. The story is an interesting one. It keeps you engaged throughout the whole running time. Unfortunately, the film never gets in depth about anything. The film just showcases the events without going into detail. Also, the film just ends when I feel it could've continued. This film could've been way longer and given more details about the story. Overall, this is a decent but disappointing film with a great lead performance.
