(jp) wrote: A strange comedy, full of dry british humour, crazy characters, it's a fun tale about friendship, rivalries, bickering, clubbing, romance and helping each other.
(us) wrote: Wasn't sure if I'd enjoy this film because whilst I adore John Turturro, I just find Woody Allen so irritating. It turned out to be a delightfully charming film even if a little silly. Each character was played to perfection. Sofia Vergara excels as a saucy little minx. The locations & soundtrack were also perfect.

(au) wrote: This was an awful horror movie that spent more time and effort on saying F**k more than anything else.Yes it was vulgar and had moments of good gore but the constant swearing and unlikeable characters made this a difficult movie to sit through. Not even nudity or women giving actual blowjobs on screen could make this movie worth watching.
(au) wrote: I expected it to be terrible, but it wasn't. Score one for Pacino's career. However, I know way too many B list celebrities and based on the cast, I figured out who did it within 10 minutes.
(br) wrote: ive only ever seen two standup acts from ML but they were both pretty fuckin funny. this one was the better of the two, as well.

(gb) wrote: A boy watches a caged up geek eat chicken heads and suck the blood in hopes of receiving liquor. At some point in time, the boy gets a taste of the geekiness, kills people, and winds up imprisoned for 20 years. He gets released and starts killing again, first at the local Kroger grocery store and then on a farm, tormenting a mother, her college-age (and huge-tittied) daughter, her boyfriend, and various other characters, albeit, the whole time clucking like a chicken, never uttering an ounce of actual dialog. What follows is a very surprisingly little gem of a horror film. Much better than I could have imagined from a film that is brought to us from the lovely people at Troma. Luther the Geek takes some sappy and corny material and plays it straight, working very hard to try and chill the viewer. Good film.
(jp) wrote: An interesting film about love, non-conformity, and joy. It is a brilliant and some what funny look at government control and breaking out to voice an opinion. It has a gripping narrative and ideal look at sex, freedom, and liberty. The film was banned in countries due to it's "pornographic" nature. Well sure there are moments of strong graphic sex/nudity but it doesn't ruin the movie. There is a particularly weird sequence where a woman is at an apartment complex preaching to a large crowd to listen to her, suddenly cutting to her roommate is having sex with a guy. It's odd and a bit out of place but it is kind of funny. This is an interesting piece that has a lot of deep feelings but it sure is a movie I wasn't sure about and I am glad to say it is good.
(jp) wrote: El re-make de "Alfie" supera al original gracias a una dosis menor de drama y a una ejecucin gil sin perder su punto. Y Jude Law no es Michael Caine pero se acerca peligrosamente. Yo no me lo esperaba...
(it) wrote: immediately confronting as usual with KKD but is completely engaging. It doesnt quite come together as some of his latest efforts do, kind of like Kurosawa's Dodesukaden
(it) wrote: Picked this one out as a hard to find piece with an added bonus of an early Julianne Moore performance. She doesn't disappoint; plays the part well. But don't let the Village Voice review on the poster fool you, they named as ONE of the best films of the decade and that was in 1999.It's just what you would expect of a movie that attempts to depict 1987 culture from the scope of 1995. A lot of ambient synthesizers, It leaves a drab, bleak feeling on your mind when you leave it. It all builds up to something that never happens. There's all of the paranoia of a good thriller without any of the thrill. Sort of a view from hypochondriacs anonymous cult and what I imagine to be one of the earlier cultural instances of misusing the word "chemical" to mean "bad thing", much to the chagrin of chemists everywhere.
