Big Miracle

Based on an inspiring true story, a small-town news reporter (Krasinski) and a Greenpeace volunteer (Barrymore) enlist the help of rival superpowers to save three majestic gray whales trapped under the ice of the Arctic Circle. ‘Big Miracle’ is adapted from the nonfiction book ‘Freeing the Whales: How the Media Created the World’s Greatest Non-Event’ by Tom Rose.

The film covers Operation Breakthrough, the 1988 international effort to rescue a family of gray whales that is discovered near the Arctic Circle, trapped by rapidly forming ice. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

However, God Help The Girl is definitely a worth seeing film, though admittedly I thought it would be TV Viewing at first. But with it getting better over time, honestly I am left hoping there is a sequel as much as I wish this was a mini-series. Especially since the main negative thing about the film is that we don't get to know much about the characters' lives before the band, and hardly get to know James and Cass at all. Though with good music, an overall cute story, and it leaving you wanting more, the little bit of negatives certainly don't outweigh the positives. Leading me to say that you should certainly see God Help The Girl, perhaps buy the soundtrack, and definitely share it with your friends!

S (it) wrote: An interesting concept, not all that interesting a movie. The plot is original but the scenes all look like things we've seen before in other films. I wouldn't recommend it, but it's decent enough to watch all the way through. 5.5/10

David M (kr) wrote: It's one of those movies that half-way through, you forget what it's about but you don't really care, because you just enjoy watching the cast. It has Hugh Laurie doing Hugh Laurie things like singing, playing the piano, riding motorcycles and delivering lines with dead-pan brilliance. The rest of the brilliant cast includes: Adrian Lester (Hu$tle) Joely Richardson and Julian McMahon (before they did Nip/Tuck) Dawn French (The Vicar of Dibley) and Joanna Lumley (AB-FAB), and cameos from Rowan Atikinson and Emma Thompson.

Nina L (au) wrote: An interesting movie on the Witch hunting and the creation of the musical Craddle will rock. John Turturo, Ruben Blades, Hank Azaria, Emily Watson, and Bill Murray as a ventriloquist are great, although there are too many stars and it's a bit too long.

UNDISCLOSED U (ca) wrote: This might be a Babe knockoff, but I enjoyed it, and it's low rating is ridiculous. It was refreshing to have dialogue where children interacted with old fashioned manners vs a recent movie with a foul mouthed 5 year old that received rave reviews. Yes, the other movie is geared towards adults, but as the minority, I am tired of what Hollywood is dishing out these days. JMHO If anyone can recommend similar movies, I am all ears!

Jake P (kr) wrote: The movie to me is like a mural scaling the entire length of a large & weathered inner city building. Spike Lee has managed to fill the entire space with a family portrait. One that I wouldn't call dysfunctional but normal, even if the life is different from mine or yours. It's vibrant, colorful, challenging & sad. It stresses the importance & strength of family & how important it is to grow up quickly in an unfair world.

Tim S (br) wrote: This second Rocky film isn't as good as the first (which isn't uncommon for sequels). But if you really liked the first one you might enjoy this one too.

Bryan W (jp) wrote: This movie is generally pretty okay all around. The main reason to watch it is Gary Busey's insanely over the top performance as a gleeful masochist. The scene where they try to avoid getting drafted is the stuff of Busey legend.

Mary H (ag) wrote: Shirley is adorable as ever. I love the part in the kitchen when the bad guy is tied up and he wants her to cut the ropes. He says, "Hey watch it! You're cuttin' my head off!" She responds with, "That's alright!"

Joetaeb D (de) wrote: With overblown action, lack of campy charm and a surprisingly wooden performance by William Hurt. The lost in space movie is a dully vapid sci-fi that is lost as the title
