Featuring a big, spiny, tentacled, sociopathic cousin to the Nostromo's xenomorph, decently-executed special effects, and earnest acting played straight by the well-seasoned cast. Beefy, jut-jawed, perennial Russ Meyer fave Charles Napier stars as the world-weary cop out to stop the rampaging beastie, with assist from leggy & beauteous Ann Turkel of "Humanoids From the Deep" fame. With lots of recognizable, mostly TV faces, and "Batman"'s Catwoman (Julie Newmar) in a thankless role she could have phoned in!

The acting in this is top notch with Roberts and in particular Jon Voight deserving their oscar nominations. Good support from Edward bunker and John P. Ryan asthe obsessed prison warden, who will go to any lengths to but his nemesis Manny (Voight) behind bars.

Christopher E (mx) wrote: Despite all the raging controversy around Chris Kyle, this is a heartfelt and honoring tribute to a fallen soldier, and should be treated as such. Chris Kyle was the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history. But there was much more to this true American hero than his skill with a rifle. There's so much raging criticism over a man that people know nothing about. Chris Kyle has been called many things, and this film has received flack because of said words. Now I don't know all the sides of this story, neither will I ever act like I do, but as a film enthusiast, this film is undoubtedly spectacular. Bradley Cooper has come a long way, taking on multiple roles and building a name for himself. This may be one of my favorite performances from him yet, putting on a memorable and emotional portrayal that I'll never forget. He put on a performance that's very hard to achieve because a character like this is really hard to portray. If you don't do it correctly you'll probably cause more harm than good, and he does a fantastic job. Sienna Miller is really emotional and considering she has significantly less screen time than Cooper, she's still a big standout. The way Clint Eastwood directs this film is so applause worthy. It's an intense and nail biting film, and there are more than a few moments that get your heart racing. Ironically, it's also a slow and heartbreaking story about a man who gave up his life to serve his country, and just how badly that affected him. Eastwood's ability to tell this story of a man suffering from PTSD is admirable and respectful, with so many important moments that'll probably fly right under other people's noses. He creates an amazing tribute to Chris Kyle, but he also creates a relatable story for military personnel suffering with PTSD. It's dark and it sucks and he really does a great job showing that. The dialogue and overall pacing of this movie worked really well for me. Some people will probably find themselves a bit detracted from the film, but this really is a valuable investment of your time. This is one of my favorite war movies of all time and for different reasons than your typical war film. You really have to pay attention to the moments in this movie because collectively, the small things makes this film what it is.The only real problem I had with this film was the seemingly abrupt ending. I understand that it's based off of a true story and it followed a true path of events, but it was very abrupt and I felt like there was a lack of conclusion. I'm not saying I need movies to end in a certain way, I'm just saying I need an ending, period. In the end, "American Sniper" is an amazing war film about a man who gave his life for our country, and no matter what's said about him, I have the utmost respect for him. I loved this movie and many things about it, and it was damn near perfect for me.
