TheRookieWriter M (de) wrote: I expected something more. The ending pissed me off too. Now I sound like the critic in the movie.

Mirai S (mx) wrote: I was surprised with this. It's clever, witty, funny - basically, it has everything. It's not fast paced, but it does't need to be. It happily goes along and the twist at the end it quite good and out of the blue. This movie handles everything well.

Post G (kr) wrote: To paraphrase John Peel, everything Hartley does is different, everything is the same. Henry Fool begins much like classic Hartley. Funny, insightful, and doesn't take himself too seriously. The problem is that it is much too long. Not so much that this is the issue per se, but the writing fails. The last 45 minutes or hour is just too... conventional and predictable. Doesn't add anything to the story and comes across too trite and serious.

Zoe S (de) wrote: great twist and these two are great actors

Stevie S (fr) wrote: I would give this one star if River Phoenix wasn't in it. 'cause lets be real, it's a BORING movie. and all that sappy ass music man.. I had to mute that shit just to finish the movie with my sanity intact.

Joni R (de) wrote: Garbo's name ought to get star billing at Flixter. Geez... About the best film she did. She overcame much to find truth and meaning in her loveless royal life. She met the real world and loved it and the man (She was cute in drag too). Standing at the front of that ship at the end. Classic! Especially for its time! Yes...pre Hayes code. Thank goodness.

Sandy K (ru) wrote: Melodramatic in places, and a bit simplistic in its view of racial tensions, the performances of Kevin Costner and Octavia Spencer still make this worth watching. At its heart, it is about flawed people who struggle to do the right thing -- for themselves, but mostly for a little girl they love.

Wiebke K (nl) wrote: a rather disturbing movie, both in subject matter and in the portrayed ease of overcoming the obstacle of living with sexual abuse.

Kevin B (de) wrote: god what a dissapointment

Jason C (au) wrote: If you want to see a fun, witty and clever film about small furry animals collecting food for the winter, watch Over The Hedge. If you want to watch a derivative disappointment full of annoying characters and have your intelligence insulted into the bargain, The Nut Job is the film for you.
