Carmela (fr) wrote: Still reeling from the excitement of Sinatra and Kelly - singing, dancing, and romancing, as the caption says. I loved the quiet, shy Frank Sinatra. The poor fellow, getting tutored in love from the scheming, sneaky Gene Kelly. But - what dancing! What excitement! The stretches of musical routine fit perfectly into the story - the classical music from Jose Iturubi (thrilling!), the cartoon sequence (a little stretched-out, but crazy unique and effective), Kelly's dance to Kathryn Grayson (wonderfully blended into the real-life tale). Love the Navy, love the little boy who adored Kelly, love the happy, happy feeling I get watching it!
Tatsuhito K (us) wrote: I've seen the film at least 10 times in the last couple years, and it only gets better and better. Is it a masterpiece? No. Does it add anything new to the genre? Probably not. Still, it doesn't stop me from being in love with Like Crazy. This is one of my all-time favorite films; no other recent film has captured young love, the act of falling in love, and the hardships of maintaining that relationship truer and more beautiful and intimate as this Drake Doremus' indie gem. Like Richard Linklater's "Before Sunrise", this film presents that telling a story doesn't require a massive amount of money, as long as you have a great story and the characters you care about. This is not for everybody and some people may find its sentimentality bothersome, but I like that it's sentimental. Life is full of moments like that, and I like it very much.

So she helps them to work on their choir skills while at the same time, being a troublemaker. This is actually still pretty good and doesn't really get too preachy or anything like that. It's a good fun comedy with a bit of crime drama mixed in.
Liam C (nl) wrote: A very short and predictable film. That's not to say I didn't enjoy it. I thought the film had too much build up and not enough pay off. The whole film is obvious to what will happen but you still like seeing it. Characters were good and I liked the banter between Cage and Jones. Jones' subplot was a good one. With an impressive, albeit short, finale and one that will make audiences smile. If you're in need of some solid if forgettable and predictable entertainment, Fire Birds has you covered. It's a pleasant film, it's not going to win any Oscars or anything.
