Nolan S (it) wrote: I normally hate found footage, it gives me a headache. I think it is a cheap gimmick that is used to make crappy, low budget movies. However, when used right, found footage can add a feeling of realism to a film. I found this to be the case in Cloverfield. This film took an idea that has been done countless times, and turned it into a new, different kind of science-fiction thriller. And as much as I hate to admit it, that was due to the exceptional found footage camera work. Cloverfield is a fun different film that I would definitely recommend!

Private U (gb) wrote: Pretty good indie production. See past the low budget and you get a film with decent acting, a good story and an interesting angle on vampirism. Definately adds to the genre, as opposed to just cashing in on it.

Justin B (jp) wrote: Committed, ludicrously silly spoof of figure skating. It's never high art but it's damn funny and is one of Ferrell's best efforts outside Mckay's direction.

ChiaHui H (nl) wrote: The film begins with some flashbacks. In one of the scenes a Black man is shot for refusing to bow down to a cold, lifeless statue used to represent the compassionate humble Jewish woman, Miriam, virgin mother of Jesus Christ, the central figure of Catholicism. Then the camera moves to an Irish Reformatory School, St Judes, where the boys experience harsh treatment in the hand of a priest prefect Brother John (Iain Glen). Their hopeless situation is alleviated after William Franklin (Aidan Quinn) arrives to accept his teaching appointment at the school. Franklin is an inspiration for these boys' new found love in literature. At the same time the sexual abuse Patrick Delaney 743 (Chris Newman) receives from the paedophile priest Brother Mac (Marc Warren) continues. Liam Mercier 636 (John Travers) at the end also dies from Brother John's erupting rage and violence.

Natalie T (ca) wrote: AWESOME! True it's a guy film, but being a female I can and have watched this film over and over and over again since it came our in 1995. It's as if you are there in the submarine with them.

Terrence G (gb) wrote: A fun comic caper film. Though regarded as not one of Hitchcock's best, it still is fun to watch especially due to the engaging performances by a talented cast.

Andy O (mx) wrote: Adapted from the Tom Clancy novel of the same name, this is a by the numbers terrorist flick with a good measure of revenge plot thrown in. It's showing its age now, with dated action scenes and a predictable plot, but somehow still manages to be an entertaining watch...

Kevin J (mx) wrote: Hilarious and fun comedy/ horror flick. I love horror movies and my favorite sub genre is a solid horror flick that's funny and can laugh at itself. Lots on one liners, funny characters, and of course cannibal gore.
