Juliet B (kr) wrote: I am speechless to describe this movie, this is a true story about middle-aged couple who are fighting against local authorities in their area of countryside. the picture is not perfect but its kind of movie everyone would enjoy watching.very touching and heart-warming.

Todd S (nl) wrote: If this movie wasn't a limited release, overseas film, people would be talking about an Academy Award for Best Picture! On the surface it doesn't look like much and the film also starts out painfully slow, but Interview With A Hitman is an incredible story, with some really imaginative twists in it. The story begins with an aging Director, looking for one more chance to be on top. He finds that chance when one of Interpol's most wanted, a career killer, contacts him, and agrees to tell his story. The Director has to jump through some hoops, but once they sit down, the mysterious man starts to tell the story of his life. The man knows nothing but killing, have working for a variety of organized crime outfits since he was 10 years old. From there, the film plays out like any other mafia film you've ever seen, there are shady deals, rats, set-ups, everything you could possibly want in a film about organized crime. Interview With A Hitman does take place in Europe though, and can be somewhat confusing. Thick accents and weird names make following the story a bit tricky at times, and that's the only reason this film didn't receive 5 stars. That being said, the ending more than makes up for it, with a twist that you will never see coming. Luke Goss (Red Widow, Death Race) stars as this stone cold killer and does an excellent job, in a role that really wasn't much of a stretch for him. He always plays these cold, calculating people, and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he has killed before, Goss is one scary dude. This is the kind of film that will have you thinking about it long after it's over, something every writer hopes to accomplish. When you're going over the events in your mind days after you've seen the film and you are still in awe of what happened, you know you just saw something very special. Label this one a must see movie, because the story really has everything you could want and more.

Jason S (au) wrote: Had never seen this movie from the 80s. A super bad, cheesy, and made me laugh out loud film. The killer, who uses karate, was so cheesy and stupid that I couldn't stop laughing everytime he was on screen. The subplots were unnescessary and kinda stupid. The whole mafia thing was not needed.

Suveera A (nl) wrote: One of my favourite childhood Bollywood films features a predominantly Muslim theme - I'm extremely proud of this fact!!! Aside from that, the story is exciting, the songs amazing and Bachchan absolutely great. This is also the film in which Bachchan suffered from a terrible accident on the film's sets and sent him to hospital - that one shot is captioned with the following words: "This is the shot in which Amitabh Bachchan was seriously injured" in blue lettering. Watch for it.

Dustin I (kr) wrote: The first will always remain the best but still worth a look. Much of the same creepy tone is carried over from the first film.

Dan H (ag) wrote: A surprisingly hilarious and oddly charming sci-fi comedy (There are also moments of real peril and darkness). The crew of the space vessel Dark Star are on a mission to colonize the galaxy by destroying unstable planets. There really isn't much of a plot. We just hang out with the crew during their mission and follow their adventures and mishaps. I'd say my favorite character is Pinback (played by Dan O'Bannon, who helpt to write this film. he would later go on to write Alien, segments of Heavy Metal, Dead and Buried, Return of The Living Dead, Lifeforce, and Total Recall. He would direct Return of The Living Dead). The film gets really dark out of nowhere at the end (in hilarious and shocking fashion). The script is fairly strong, and these are some fun characters to hang out with. I was surprised by how much I ended up loving this film. John Carpenter decided to make his film debut with this low-budget space comedy, which in turn features some elements he would incorporate into latter films of his. Dark Star is an overlooked and under-appreciated gem that any fan of sci-fi, oddball comedy, or John Carpenter would do wise to check out.

Adam C (us) wrote: From the opening shot I knew I was about to see a good film. It is stylish and exciting, but I lost faith half way through. I began to question the film and boy I was wrong to do that. The whole film comes together in a big way in the last twenty minuets and took me off guard. How dare I doubt the great Jean-Pierre Melville. He is a true master.

Maxwell K (es) wrote: This was actually a cute little movie with great performances by Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Robert De Niro. I thought it was fun and touching and was pretty 90's.

Dante d (ag) wrote: Hilarious zombie bug apocalypse romp! It's more fun than it has a right to be. Low budget, no-name actors and cheap but adequate special effects combine with a funny fast-paced script to make this a campy bug flick classic. Somehow it all comes together despite all the cliches. The ending leaves the viewer (well this one at least) looking forward to a sequel. Big budget Hollywood producers should take notes from this little gem.

Bianca G (es) wrote: Aussies will appreciate this film more so than foreigners: a stellar cast and excellent scenery, set dressing and gorgeous costuming. There's a real Australianness to the storytelling. There were several excellent themes and plot points but much like stuffing excess flesh into a finely tailored corset, too much story matter was shoved & laced into the film. The film went from a leisurely pace told with skill & feeling and could have ended satisfactorily 3/4 into it....but then the director & scriptwriter went a little haywire and the storytelling became farcical and I started to feel disappointed at how nonsensical it started to feel which was such a shame because I mean, come on... Look at the cast list -very high quality performers all round. The film is worth the viewing but go into it with an open mind, Aussies like to be creative and sometimes shocking with their storytelling & The Dressmaker is a yarn spun a little too long so it ravelled off the spool.
