Four college students and an Iraq War vet, lost on a desert highway, encounter a terrified young woman with a black van on her trail. They survive the ensuing chase but their car doesn't, forcing them to seek help at a nearby ranch. Only when it's too late does the group learn that it's crossed the threshold into Hell! Welcome to the Web, home to a bizarre cult of murderers, perverts and mental defectives, whose sacraments include mutilation, dismemberment, unspeakable sex acts, and slow, agonizing death for all who enter. None of their "guests" have ever made it out alive. Tonight may be different...but don't count on it.

While carrying out a mission, he is set up for treason and must find the seal and clear his name. The action choreography is decent, but sometimes too flashy. There was this lame CGI slow motion with the villain, who we needed to see in slow motion so we could tell how fast she was. Too bad they overuse this, and it gets old quickly. The story is pretty decent, they manage to put in a lot of character development throughout. It is your typical action adventure, but with a surprising ending. The final fight between Qinglong and his nemesis was well filmed, until they began using the blur technique again. The only other complaints were some dodgy CGI throughout that were pretty noticeable.

And plus the subtle comedy really ruined the flow of suspense. Too bad, because the acting was really well done, the cinematography was beautiful, and yea, that's it. The best part of the film for me was when GNR's "Sweet Child of Mine" came on during the credits. How the hell did such a great song get stuck with such a crappy film?

The story was hard for me to understand because the visuals are so captivating it is hard to read the subtitles. Probably best to find the most detailed description of the story before you watch it. Lots of hot sex and nudity but this is less notable than the force of Hauer's persona.

A great example of Grant's comedic skill seen before and well after... his best since the great screwball comedy 'Bringing Up Baby'. Like his teamings with Hepburn, Grant always had great showings with Dunne. Also, the film marked Cary's first teaming with Randolph Scott, his longtime roommate and tabloid rumored 'boyfriend' since their split a few years prior. A great film to just not have to pay attention to. Classic.
Chris W (us) wrote: Based on actual events, this is a gripping examination of of a squad of soldiers who find themselves heavily embroiled in the moral quagmire of the Vietnam War.ed PFC Eriksson (Michael J. Fox) is an idyllic soldier new to the territory. He's soldiering with a squad of hardened men lead by the young but volatile Sgt. Tony Meserve (Sean Penn). After Meserve's best friend is killed, he vows revenge. Part of that process involves going to a village to kidnap a girl whom he belives is allied with the VC. His intention is to use her as "mobile R & R". Eriksson is horrified by this, but is outvoted, and looks on in horror and disgust as his squad (which includes debuts from John C. Reilly and John Leguizamo) brutally treats, rapes, then kills the girl.Despite risk of severe retaliation, and the indifference of his superiors (Ving Rhames and Dale Dye), Eriksson is determined to bring his fellow soldiers to justice. It seems inevitable that most if not all of the New Hollywood directors have made a war film, specifically one concerning Vietnam. This is Brian DePalma's entry in that category, and, it's quite good.It lacks a lot of his overt cynicism and gimmickry, focusing instead on heavy themes and character. Don't get me wrong, there's some great camera work, a wonderful look, and a strong score from Ennio Morricone, but this is mostly a showcase from DePalma playing it straight. There's nothing wrong with that either, because it's a pretty solid film.Yes, the film does get a little too sappy and sentimental towards the end, maybe a bit too feel good, bt it's mostly earned. Also, Fox is quite compelling and convincing, but I think he was perhaps too pure of a character. He's still good though, and really sympathetic. As good as he is though, he of course gets overshadowed by Sean Penn. Penn, as expected is fiercely intense, unhinged, and memorable. The aforementioned supporters are all pretty decent, too, giving hints of greater things to come. All in all, this is a really good film, and you should check it out. Yeah, it is flawed, but even then it's still pretty worthwhile.

And it would have been cool to have subtitles for the spanish but i understand some just by how they were talking. Johnny Depp was Awesome in this at first i hated him by the end i loved him the comedy part few but amazing well done and the innovation in the gun scenes were amazing.
