Then the movie ended, and i realized i was wrong, just dead wrong! Also, they said this was a horror movie?! Come on, from the start and to the end, i couldn't stop laughing. Probably, the most stupid and most ridiculous "horror" movie ever made!!

DON'T BLOW IT.I saw a trailer for this film on the DVD of the last movie I rented and it looked like the stupidest thing ever. But then I rented it and when I watched it I was liking this isn't the Corneto trilogy but it's a pretty fun charming comedy. The film opens up with Jimmy saying he was born without an immune system. He felt happy in his bubbled up until a beautiful girl named Chloe moves next door. She would visit him everyday after school. On her birthday however she wanted Jimmy with her but he was stuck in his bubble. She ends up agreeing to marry her boyfriend Mark and when Jimmy sees the gift she made for him he decides to go too Niagara Falls and stop the wedding.Everything in the film itself is charming but not really all that funny. The acting is average to say the least it's like watching your best friend do some of the silliest things you know he usually wouldn't do. When I saw this the first time I actually thought to myself you know early 2000s comedy's are a little bit better than the newer ones. Danny Trjo was my favorite part in the film. I'm giving Bubble Boy a three and a half out five.
David S (kr) wrote: The dubbing keeps it from being a class "B" movie. The actress's save the story! Lots of hotties running about with little or nothing on!
Benjamin W (nl) wrote: To be honest, I really didn't get this movie. Sure, I understood parts of it, and its "humor" was sophomoric at best, but overall I really didn't understand what this movie was really about . . .

Sarah F (de) wrote: This is a story that is told through style rather than plot. The plot itself is pretty straight forward, even superficial. The real story and point of this movie is expressed through Von Sternberg's direction and the Gothic claustrophobic set design. I say that without any reproach. The biblical imagery intermixed with the that of death dripped with decay and decadence creating a wonderfully paranoid and suffocating mood that provides the real depth to this film and keeps it interesting. The only complaint I really have with this movie, is that of all the things Marlene Dietrich could pull off, a wide eyed innocent was not one of them. Her transformation into Catherine the Great, into the sexually aggressive Marlene we know, is quite welcomed. Which perhaps makes this movie all the more unique because with this sexually empowered Dietrich, we also welcome a ruthless and detached ruler who, while a stronger and more steady improvement to the Grand Duke, is less human than the young girl we so gladly saw corrupted. This film is completely and thoroughly pre-code and couldn't have been released even a few weeks later, but lucky for us it slipped through.

Kevin L (mx) wrote: I'm willing to let some of the sloppiness slide because this film asks big questions. The editing and visuals kept me engaged. I didn't feel the length of the movie and was thinking all throughout. Definitely a thinking movie.
