Justin H (kr) wrote: Not so much a monster movie as a look at what NASA would be like if it was run by the NRA. I wanted to rate this one higher, simply for the ludicrous scenes where high explosives are routinely used ON A SPACESHIP. Sadly however, the jaw-dropping incompetence of the astronauts and the unintentional laughter resulting from it isn't enough to offset the sheer plodding drudgery of the rest of the film. Simply put: "It!" is slow; it's one of those films where 10 minutes feels like an hour. Occasional hilarity aside, "It!" is often more trouble to sit through than it's worth. Not without redeeming value, but there's far better cheese out there.
Kirby P (gb) wrote: A fairly good movie despite starring Martin Lawrence who sucks just as much as usual. It's all Lawrence for the first few minutes, which almost convinced me to bag this one and move on to something worth watching. But with the appearance of Danny Devito, it improved immensely. Really, other than Lawrence, the cast was superb and the plot was nice 'n twisty. If someone with some talent had filled in for Lawrence, say, Ice Cube, this movie could have approached the greatness of Ruthless People -- which is clearly the vibe it was shooting for.
