Ben D (ag) wrote: It unabashedly steals from The Matrix, the special effects are crap, the story is simple and unoriginal, and the characters have no relatibillity or emotion.

Paul T (ag) wrote: A fairly good early movie from Renny Harlin (I think it was his first US movie), as well as some interesting early performances from Viggo Mortensen, Chelsea Field and Tiny Lister. The plot's OK (a haunted prison that's been re-opened with gory results) and the characters are a bit better than normal for think kind of fare.

Christina G (fr) wrote: Its really not that good at all. Typical cheesy 80's fare. So I guess I'm a little embarrassed to admit I liked this movie when I was younger. That however had nothing to do with the brilliant script, incredible performances or top notch production values. No, my love of this movie was simply about the fact that star John Allen Nelson spent most of the film half naked, and believe me, thats a very good thing.

Johnny F (ag) wrote: This is a great movie with Al Pacino.

Carlotta 4 (ru) wrote: Nicely done! This movie is one of the best of the hunger games series. It weaves together the plot and character arcs while simultaneously raising the overall stakes and setting up for the next film. I particularly love how they spend time showing the PTSD our characters have gone through because of the events of the first film. It's just enjoyable to watch. Even the side characters are extremely interesting and feel like they could front a film all on their own, and when one of them dies it's in a shocking (and glorious) manner once AGAIN raising the stakes and directly setting up the action sequence that follows with tension and uncertainty.
