Duke Johnson visits a small Southern town, intent on burying his brother. After the funeral, he learns that he must stay for 60 days, for the estate to be processed. A few locals convince Duke to reopen his late brother's nightclub, and soon the local redneck policemen are intimidating Duke with threats of violence. Duke refuses to pay the bribes they demand, so then he and his lady friend Aretha are threatened and attacked by the crooked cops. Rather than take them on himself, Duke calls on his old pal Roy. Roy brings a few buddies to Bucktown, and they bring justice to the small town. With the redneck cops out of the way, Duke lets his guard down. Then the situation gets out of hand again. Finally, Duke must settle the score himself.

Ben P (de) wrote: A massive triumph of the human spirit in the face of enormous physical adversity, Murderball is heartwarming, hilarious, heartbreaking, and ultimately heroic. You will never view a physically handicapped person the same way after watching this film. Everyone should see this movie.
Lola L (kr) wrote: What?! Not worthy? It's one of the most beautiful films I ever watched so far, it's not the cheesy-stupid Hollywood animal kind of movie, it's a film that shows the perversity of MEN that kill for the pleasure with no respect for life and nature. Brilliant!!

Sarah H (kr) wrote: I saw this movie a few weeks ago when I bought it for Xmas. It was cool looking & delivered the action but a little over the top at times, esp. the shooting scenes. James Belushi is Frank Lloyd, a violent & hot-headed redneck who kills his wife Rayanne. Kylie Travis is Karen Warren, the bombshell heroine who finds a time machine at a top secret lab & uses it over & over again to keep the murder from happening. She relives the same events over & over again, but each time there's a plot twist which adds fuel to the fire & makes things worse. Frank Whaley is Brian, a scientist who uses the machine for experiments with rats so he sets the machine to handle only 10-20 minute trips back in time. Karen the 1st time around goes back by accident, but she uses the machine 3 times more to get things done right. The pros are the acting is good, the music is decent for sci-fi action, the camerawork is good, & the story is solid. The cons are the dialogue seem a little cheesy for an action movie, but not too much, the special effects are a bit weak, but the flick's not special effects centered, so no biggie there, & the action scenes are somewhat over the top at times, esp. the explosions & shootouts between Frank & Karen. This is a good movie which will appeal to both sci-fi & action buffs, but more to action. It is a good thriller with a violent & abusive villain & good-looking blonde bombshell heroine. I love it a lot & gave it a 6 out of 10. :)

Each sequence is very well thought, the violence comes naturally no questions asked and the main character just flows in a childish way through the story. A lot of gems, a compilation of genuine ideas that have been included with a lot of precision. A must see for sure.

Brian R (gb) wrote: "Where you gonna go, where you gonna run, where you gonna hide? Nowhere... 'cause there's no one like you left." A great line from actress Meg Tilly. A teenage girl and her father discover alien clones are replacing humans on a remote U.S. military base in Alabama. Great scenes and great performances. One of my fav scenes involves Gabrielle Anwar having a relaxing bubble bath while listening to music. Then slowly with observation, stringy particules creep slowly into the walls to the bathtub. Anwar is unaware of the particules insinuating her body. One of the greatest things I've noticed in "Body Snatchers" is that people are being replaced by an ugly-like Pod Plant which takes over and kill their human victims as they sleep, turning them to dust. The plant has now inherited the victim's body become them and yet showing practically no emotion. It is downright scary stuff. Another key element is the family tensions. Anwar's character doesn't get along with her stepmom played by Meg Tilly, she also doesn't get along with her father(Terry Kinney) and her young stepbrother(Reilly Murphy) senses a wave of uncertainty when witnessing his mom. Who would have thought a picture as great as this would suit somebody like Ferrara? To me his films is almost paraell to filmmakers like Paul Schrader or Martin Scorsese, now with this picture he has succeeded on every level. It's sad "Body Snatchers" was only selected to a few limited theaters upon it's release. I was reminded of the successful Zombie pictures but compared to "Body Snatchers" those movies doesn't even come close enough let alone stand a chance.

Is it me, or does every movie set in Russia always seem to be incredibly similar!?! The Chernobyl Diaries/ Darkest Hour...same movie!?!
