(ag) wrote: This film was hugely depressing, shot in a documentary style to create the image of this being real life footage, the film highly succeeds in making you as a viewer believe this is all real life footage and these characters are real people, with real motives. The film is so oppresively downbeat and depressing throughout that alot of people will not like this film, it is a cruel, horrible portrayal of two deeply disturbed teenagers and an even more deeply disturbing plan, they call 'zero day'.

(gb) wrote: So, the Star Trek franchise is clearly reaching an end in this format. This must be the case otherwise the comedy element would just be too much for the fans to take. Where there were some amusing moments in the previous films, this is almost a spoof. The story is pretty ridiculous too but I think this falls into the category of being so bad it's good; and it is pretty entertaining.

(nl) wrote: seriously underrated noir with dick powell in marlowe mode. always fun to see him play a hard guy with plenty of snappy dialogue, as seen in 'murder, my sweet.' terrific russian roulette scene!
(fr) wrote: A modern day Hitchcock movie. Red Rock West is a true classic. If you can find the movie see it! A strong story where out of luck drifter Nicolas Cage (Michael) is offered a job, because of mistaken identity. Michael believes the job is to be a bartender, but turns out to be a contract to murder the bar owner's wife. Michael a moral man tries to fix the problem, but the real killer Lyle arrives (aka Dennis Hopper). Red Rock West has excellent plot twists and story curves which make the viewer yearning for the next part of the story. Nicolas Cage's best acting performance, which was on par with Dennis Hopper's psycho cowboy character. The rest of the supporting cast was outstanding. John dahl directed a movie which creates character development, while increasing tension with each scene. Four out of five stars.
