Heather C (ca) wrote: Atrocious. The beginning was pretty cool, but then everything started happening at once and they were stuck in a forest forever. Didn't make a lot of sense.

Graham M (ag) wrote: For an action film that exceeds 2 hours, there's far too much emphasis on sibling bickering and not enough on the part of the plot that's actually interesting; Donald Sutherland as a crazy serial arsonist. Also, exceptional special effects? Really? Does that include the scenes where the footage of fire is clearly being played in reverse?

Scottie T (nl) wrote: harvey kietel and robert de niro pretty much carry the film because not alot of interesting things happen, i think rotten tomatoes hyped up this movie too much, but from its direction from scorcese is amazing, along with the performances from deniro and kietel, but its nothing special, its a " you owe me money you dipshit, if you dont pay me by tuesday, i'll break your fucking legs " type of movie. it was a bore for some of the movie, i just really like de niro in this film, such a good character, and so well acted, i wish he did work like this today. but i guess you should see this film and your a scorsese fan like i am, its enjoyable, not award worthy enjoyable, but it was enjoyable fpr the most part.
