1896, Montmartre: the Can-Can, the dance in which the women lift their skirts, is forbidden. Nevertheless Simone has it performed every day in her night club. Her employees use their female charm to let the representatives of law enforcement look the other way - or even attend the shows. But then the young ambitious judge Philippe Forrestier decides to bring this to an end. Will Simone manage to twist him round her little finger, too? Her boyfriend Francois certainly doesn't like to watch her trying.

Chris K (es) wrote: watching this movies is like waking up to a penquins and turltes shitting in your face. the killer was bloody awful and his copper mask was ass. but from what i've read on the net the director was only 19 when this film was made and being one of those release on video films it does have a slight charm to it. but overall boo. there's way better straight to video films out there and this isnt one of them.

Peter L (us) wrote: a good police movie, the actors are all very good. but there is no breakthrough .... it's quite like the SDU movie (episode 2) - the fighting is in the countryside ... whereas I want to see long CQB in a city - that's the difficult part (for story and filming) ma !

Josh M (ca) wrote: In retrospect Zombieland saved the zombie horror scene. Zombies were becoming irrelevant in horror until Woody Harrelson came along to let us all know that zombies are far from dead, pun intended.

Eric W (de) wrote: While being quite unoriginal the film definately benefits from the talent of the two main actors, who both do their parts very well.

Christine B (kr) wrote: pffffffffff... a little long and dense for this amateur in art history, i still did like the theatricalized critique/analysis of rembrandt's painting. it brings life to something that has been intensely intellectualized, and greenaway's sense of lighting, colors and mise-en-scne is unbeatable.

Paul F (ru) wrote: Well acted but it was just too dull and uneventful for my taste.

Brian W (nl) wrote: I wanted to see this because Jason Statham was in it and I've seen most of everything else he's been in so I figured, "what the heck?" Unfortunately it was just stereotypically ghetto with really no redeeming qualities. The plot was unoriginal and unimaginative. Can't reccomend it at all.

Weul S (es) wrote: A sergeant in the French Legionnaires sees much of himself in a new recruit, triggering both desire and jealousy, leading to a tragic conclusion. This poetic film about the beauty of male physicality feels like the first half of Full Metal Jacket thru an obvious Thin Red Line filter.

Adam E (nl) wrote: do you love the hoff? Do you love really cheesey made for tv movies? Do you like movies very loosely based on marvel comics? Then this is for you! If not then knock at least 2 stars of this rating straight away! The hoff plays bad as nick fury trying to stop hydra and look really gruff. He sounds gruff, he walks gruff (!) and he shoots lots of people. Its cheesey but its still fun. Tobe honest your enyoment will really come out of how much you like david. If he does your head in then avoid but if you are a fan you'll love him chewing up the scenery with a voice that sounds like its had to many whiskey and stubble he looks the shit! Good cheesey fun and well better than the captain america nd justice league tv movies that came out.

Vincent W (mx) wrote: Just when I was beginning to think that sci-fi from the 90s would forever bore me, this film comes alone. It's actually quite enjoyable! Naturally, it feels a bit old and clunky but it is a very endearing movie. Some of the puppet work is kinda dopey because it is so old. The cast gives a good performance. The cinematography does its best and in the end it worked out alright. What shines most about this film is the soundtrack. David Arnold also did the music for Independence Day and the Sherlock TV series. He is da man. This film is the jumping off point for the Stargate SG-1 TV series. I hope that will continue to build on this film.Summary: Surprisingly decent! I kinda liked it.

Bob P (fr) wrote: This, to me, is a rather empty Samurai action film. That said being said, the action is absolutely stellar and that is what garners this film it's critical acclaim. If you want something with great pacing or something that will leave you with any sense of resolution, look elsewhere. I understand this film was set to be part of a trilogy (the other two films were never produced) but, as it is, the film's sudden, abrupt ending does it no favors.

Margarita S (mx) wrote: I loved the ghoulish premise of this movie. Impressive special effects and use of flashbacks.

Andrew K (ru) wrote: Neo-noir meets the hierarchy of high school ... and it works. Very nicely done.

B D (mx) wrote: Compelling story you didn't want to end! Definitely shows restrain in the retelling of events, pleasant to watch a historical drama that doesn't over-dramatise true events.

Dwayne R (ca) wrote: Little more than a rip-off of Alien and Aliens, and The Abyss. Big, greedy mining company is the bad guy. Hmmm. Sounds awfully familiar.

Ulysses L (mx) wrote: not my typical action movie so couldn't really rate very highly.
