The elements are all here - sophomoric acting, realistic dialogue and attention paid to characters rather than plot - but something about "Cold Weather" makes it a little bit more interesting than you would expect. I guess that the answer lies in Aaron Katz's charming, low-key direction. And even though the central mystery is never fully explained, "Cold Weather" is well-shot, well-edited and endearing, and the characters are relatively intriguing.

(fr) wrote: This movie follows a fantastically written screenplay that recreates one of the most significant and tragic incidents in the history of Northern Ireland. The Blood Sunday incident on Sunday January 30th 1972. Actor James Nesbitt stars as Ivan Cooper, the leader of the civil rights march. It's a wonderfully edited piece of heartfelt drama and it retells the incident of that tragic day in a very serious and emotional way. There wasn't too many cameras used for this movie, but it still worked exceedingly well as the camera angles captured most of the significant plot elements in the story, such as the marchers, the obstacles that were used to block off certain areas, the HQ of the British soldiers and the homes back then. The production and everything is just amazing and there's not too many movies set in Belfast. I also particularly loved the accents spoken in the movie from both sides, I haven't seen too many movies with Belfast accents being spoken, so it was an interesting experience and a change. I'd definitely recommend 'Bloody Sunday', it's a worth watch and something most of is need to see.
