Bailey T (it) wrote: The movie, "An Education" directed by Lone Scherfig is a flim about a young girl name Jenny (Carey Mulligan) who is smart, pretty and dreams of attending Oxford University and a much older man named David (Peter Sarsgaard) who charms her into the adult life. I really enjoyed this movie and recommend it to anyone old enough to comprehend its message. The climax of the movie is very unexpected and will leave you wanting to know what is going to happen next. The film also teaches a good lesson on decision making. By keeping the viewer intrigued, having an important theme, and ending in a satisfactory way, this movie has earned a very good reputation and a favorable review.

Don S (nl) wrote: After the mess that was Grown Ups 2, I was hoping for more from this Sandler movie. He and Barrymore have made some classics. This isn't one of those, but it wound up better than it began. I was bored throughout the first third, where the characters are introduced and the story is set up, finding myself not really liking the characters much. After hitting Africa, it picks up you you discover the nuances that make them more than cliches. Satisfactory ending. Missing most of the Happy Madison crew this time, especially Schnieder.

Letitia L (ag) wrote: As good on the second viewing as the first... This is one of the best movies of all time. Maybe the best non-violent movie of all time.Intricate plotting and flawed but entirely lovable characters you want to shower empathy and forgiveness upon.

Rebecca C (au) wrote: I'm not sure why everyone hates this film so much. I thought it was hilarious with a good message for certain kinds of women. I watched it without knowing all of the bad things people were saying about it. Additionally, I watched it not knowing much about Jenny McCarthy. I wanted to watch it just to see what she had that was so captivating to people in the 90s. I was very skeptical and dismissive, but bored enough to watch despite that. As a result, I am Jenny McCarthy fan and will give anything she does a chance.Within minutes of pressing play I was pleasantly surprised. JM was unabashedly unattractive in the first scene and did some excellent acting. I FELT the character's pain. The rest of the scenes and characters went on to impress me at every turn. Carmen Electra is astonishingly good. The others are all tremendously fun as well. Some of the scenes are UNFORGETTABLE. In the end, I ended up watching it twice and buying it on DVD.Take that, all you nay-sayers!

Jonathan G (mx) wrote: Almost as good as the first interesting story great acting funny at times overall prob the only good sequel in the franchise

Andrew P (ca) wrote: What's great about this segment is the reality check a lot of these kids have. Some are doing quite well, but most, whether they had a private or public education, are living normal middle class lives.

Aron R (us) wrote: A true test of patience with little/aggravating payoff.

Jack G (us) wrote: dated for sure (Nils Asther, who plays the title character, is indeed not a "Chinaman" as the nomenclature was at the time), but it's a very good Frank Capra picture with a well laid message and some interesting and subtle sexual tension long before Stanwycj got to her Double Indemnity days. Not always sensical but it worked well for me.

Moya W (us) wrote: I have mentioned before that I don't like directors that starr in their own movies, for me that's selfishness to a level that I can't really tolerate, especially when they starr as the main character. It's one thing if it had been a bit part, but when it's the actual main character I find it quite egotistical. But aside from that it was an okay and humorous comedy. All the actors did great and all the stories had depth. It was an enjoyable movie with humour and emotion but I probably woudn't see it again.

Charlie D (mx) wrote: Good but very weird and confusing sometimes. But otherwise an acknowledgment of courage and to never give up
